• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

i just had the update done a few weeks ago but I’m still finding when I search for some locations it comes up with no results even when I know the location has been there for years. When I finally get there by using my phone, I save the location in the nav and it comes up with the location. Talk about useless.. anyone else experiencing this and is there a solution?

Yes I have a couple of times, I tried to dial in a location that exists but no results found, very frustrating, if others are also having problems this will validate to take it back to dealer to escalate it to get rectified.

Purely by chance I was on the phone with my dealership service department today and among other things I asked them about map updates and if they can be done any time or just wait for the service (in 4,000k) she told me there hasn’t been any map updates yet and that they’re done by a third party company that supplied the unit and until they do one Kia can’t update anything. I thought it was bullshit because I was sure others on here had already had updates done but couldn’t be bothered arguing with her as I’m not due for service yet. Funny how some dealers do it and others just sprout shit. I asked about general software updates as I’d read on here others had updated their Bluetooth and again got the same response.

Surprise surprise when I asked about the diff oil change she claimed no knowledge of it and said if it was changed it would only be if there was a problem and Kia investigated it and approved it as they don’t just change diff oil.

You may be able call BS to them on this...but check below versions first

July 18 after update, check your version against this one, if it’s the same then it’s up to date

Then take this in about the diff oil.

I’ll check my software version tomorrow but it hasn’t been changed since I bought it in June and it’s an April build so I’m guessing it’ll be the same as your February version. Thanks for the info.

Going In Wedesday for its 10,000 1 year service anything else i should ask? I mentioned the diff oil they said if theres no issue then not a problem, going to mention the navigation update to you think I'll get straight answers ( @ Stinger Gt ss ) at GWK? Cheers.

Tow bar recall if you haven’t had it dealt with, even if you don’t have a tow bar. Service department told me today to bring it in regardless as they generate a job sheet record the VIN and send it to Kia to basically cross you off the list.

No towbar no recall, it’s only a sticker on door pillar if you had one.

Yeah I know what the letter says, just saying what the dealership said. I’m pretty sure someone else on here posted their dealer told them similar back when we were talking about it when the letters first came out. All they do is notify Kia of the vin and that the car has been looked at. Doesn’t need a special trip but as he’s going in for service it’s worth mentioning to them. I won’t be making a special trip for mine I don’t have a tow bar, but will do it at service. If they sent letters to every owner in Australia, stands to reason they’d want to check those vehicles off a list to cover their own arse.

My first 10k service they did a diff oil change and a map update but the Nav system is still 10 years behind other cars if you don't spell the word correct it won't predict what your looking for and it doesn't cancel the letters you don't need when typing yet kias others cars for half the price do this.

1. I downloaded the latest software and noticed absolutely no difference to some of the way out of date information in relation to speed zones and red light cameras. For instance, there was a red light camera in a particular location but it was removed at least 18 months ago (possibly longer).

Here's a link to the download site HYUNDAI-MNSOFT

2. Was also told by the Dealer that diff oil wouldn't be changed unless there was a problem.
