Stinger Enthusiast
The Stinger here was pitched at former Falcon & Commodore owners, 18% of Stinger purchases came from Commodore trade ins, then another large proportion of trades are current Kia owners for the Stinger.
Most here wouldn’t know let alone see a Porsche Panamera, not a popular car here in the scheme of things, I see more Lambos, Ferrari’s & Maserati & now Tesla’s also lots of Merc, BMW, Audi, Lexus here.
Missed my point, I stated “home owners” a lot of us baby boomers live & work in Sydney & “own” their home & have no debt. Australians are also some of the most affluent individuals on the world scale, in your travels have you actually be to OZ or does google provide you with all your information.
Having 13 million Millionaires with a population of 350million is not comparable to AU with a 25 million population, but when you look at it on a per capita basis we punch above our weight in all aspects as a society & not just based on how many millionaires we have.
Think you’re trying to prove something that isn’t in my point. I’m really not saying one is better than other just stating fact. It’s not a matter of per capita wealth. Markets are created by pure numbers regardless of per capita etc. Having over 13 million millionaires makes US one of the biggest luxury car markets in world plain and simple. Kia is competing for share of more wealthy buyers not average Joes as you believe. Average joe in my mind is somone in blue collar job making union wages etc. suspect in US Stinger won’t appeal to that crowd. I know when I worked in warehouse and made low middle class wages luxury car was last thing I’d consider. Stinger wouldn’t have been on menu.
I hear you on Commadore replacement but couple hundred a month is really irrelevant in total market for Stinger. Australia won’t save the Stinger. Lol!
I’m calling Stinger as we know it today dead by end of 2020. Will put a bottle of good scotch on that bet.
