Hi all,

Has anyone experienced the hatch (I have the GT2 but I'm sure no difference) closing on your head as soon as it finishes opening all the way? I've had the car since March and this has happened randomly approx. 4 times with long stretches in-between.

Thanks!

Yup, this has happened to me probably about the same number of times over the last 6 months. Exactly as you describe; opens all the way then immediately starts closing. It’s happened so infrequently I haven’t been able to identify a pattern as to why it may be occurring. For now I’m just putting up with it until I can figure out why it’s doing it.

Car is trying to eat you :D:rofl:

What build year and month. Could be a flaw. I’m feb 2018 no issues.

Happens to me, too. Very annoying to have it close on me when I'm trying to load something. It just started happening for me though - prior to a few weeks ago it never happened once. I suspect there's a specific cause, but I don't know what.

It could be a bad sensor thats needs replacing. try changing the hatch height slightly as per book and see if it does it again.

Try reprogramming the hatch. Meaning have it relearn the opening height.

@AV8R There's one that even eats 737's

Is there a smaller plane inside the 737? It’s like a Russian babushka doll.

My car is currently in the shop for its 10 000 km service so I will ask tomorrow when I pick it up whether there is any info on this issue.

Make sure they changed your diff oil.

I said to the guy I wanted it done because I am getting some noise from the diff. He said they don’t have the addititive in stock yet??? I thought that was a bit strange because I knew you had yours done a few months ago. Anyway I left it overnight tonight so they could cold test it tomorrow but even if they don’t do it tomorrow, they will be doing it at some stage soon. This is my first service with these guys (other than the free one) so I don’t have any gauge on their service levels yet.

My dealer wasn’t aware until I told them, ordered the oil straight away & took about a month to get in, I’ve now had it in for about a month & is has really improved the low speed feeling of that the parkbrake was on until it warmed up, it is now non existent.

Not an additive it’s a new type of diff oil.

This bloke at least knew about the issue so that’s a good start.
