Are you going to tint your windows?

Utah cops are Nazi's about the tinted windows. They use it for a reason to pull you over and see what else they can nail you with. I'm not sure what is worse there, tinted windows over over-sized tires.

Oversized tires are illegal there? There A LOT of oversized tires in Alabama.

For sure. If it sticks out past the fenders to far, or your bumper is to high off the ground. A whole ton of crap.

I had the back windows and hatch tinted 5%, front side windows 35% although if I get pulled over I'll have to remove the front tint as it's not legal to do them in Canada.

Considering it .... and astonished its not standard on a sporty car. Not the front sides or front of course ... In switzerland, that's a bit more than "just being asked to remove" if they catch you with it.

There's surely some tint standard as it is on all cars - just not dark the way most of us like it...

Yeah I do mean dark ... come soften with sporty stuff. My M135i was way darker and even my Skoda Octavia is darker than the Stinger I think.

You get dark tint standard there? From the factory? Or does the dealer install it?

Not sure. I only recall less tint. Might be no tint at all, really.

My girlfriend just got a 2018 Niro. All of the Windows but driver and passenger were already tinted. I hope the Stinger is the same.

I just got mine tinted as an extra from my dealer. I believe the film is Rayno's ceramic line, not exactly sure the product number. I choose the tint level myself and went with the lightest possible for the front and second lightest for the rest.

Front - 50%
Sides & back - 35%

What I think = way too dark for my liking. It's obviously alright during the day, hate it for the night time.

50% on the front windshield? 35% on all four side windows. Correct?

I went with 35% on the back three windows, but chickened out on getting anything on the front side windows. After reading about a number of people getting pulled over in our province for having the slightest amount of tint on any of the front windows, I just didn't want the hassle.

From the outside perspective the back windows looks good, but I wish they were slightly darker. From the inside perspective, they're okay - but might be nicer a shade lighter at night.

Yeah, 35% is pretty light - but it's a good look for the exterior. Sometimes very dark doesn't look as good. There's something classy about a light tint - but it's a shame you can't have it the same on all four side windows. Down in Mexico they can't have limo tint on the windshield if they want. Here, we're not allowed limo but pretty much nobody gets bothered. It IS Florida and the sun can be very intense here for most of the year.

You're right - it's not worth the hassle. And I'm pretty sure there's going to be an on/off solution for car windows very soon. So you'll probably have that option soon'ish...

That would be sweet - I love technology!

Yes, 50% on the windshield and the rest (4 side windows and the rear window) got 35%. It's way too dark for what i'm used to.

The tint shop told me the average customer gets 35% on the front windshield, 15% for the rest of the windows - that's super crazy IMO. 50% is the lightest film the tint shop stock, lol. So I got the lightest I could at the shop. They kept saying I need to go darker because of privacy, people can't see inside, etc. I guess the police does not care so much about tinted windows here in Korea.

I have 50% on my windshield. It's helpful with sunlight but 35% sounds better. Then again, that would be too dark at night for me. 35% on the sides is light to me as I typically go with 20%. But 20% can be dark if there's not much light outside at night. I do like my privacy but I need to be reasonable about seeing clearly in the dark...

It's not exactly legal to tint the windscreen/windshield here either in the U.S. But we're allowed a bit of anything we want at the very top. Approximately 8 inches worth...

In California its 4 inchs at the top of windshield (illegal to do the entire thing)
and the driver/passenger are now 70% transmittance (I remember reading they were illegal back in '13 when I last did tints .. Good thing they changed it!)
back windows and rear = Any. (but too dark = hard to drive at night for reversing .. but I guess its okay bc backup cameras)
I honestly have 5% transmittance on my FR-S and its very nice bc nighttime driving most cars behind me have the lights at my eye level. Having my sides at 35% is also nice for the fronts because side mirror because headlights from behind also shines into there.

It shouldn't be a big problem for the Stinger because its not as low .. but still I think all cars should have tints for a little more privacy and aesthetics .. and the not so really important UV protection but lets add the "health-promoting" marketing pitch for tints ~
