I hope you're joking... but if not...Wife is PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone wanna take over my lease?
35 mo left, $499 a month. I put $3000 down plus the first months payment.
I'm willing to lose the $3500, to save my marriage..
I'm in SoCal
Not jokingI hope you're joking... but if not...
maybe you can take it to carmax and see how much they'll willing to buy it for, maybe it will be higher than your payoff amount
Most likely went to taxes...i was one of the first to complete the lease then buyout and can assure you the process and math was correct. UNLESS something has changed with regard to the Lease Agreement, which i find highly unlikely, the lease rebate was most likely used to cover the remaining sales tax owed on the final purchase price. AZ charges 10% sales taxes so that number can be significant.Yesterday, I just bought out my lease and it seems as though the $6K incentive had "vanished" and no one can explain where it went.....
I too considered this...use the insane lease cash, buy it out, turn around and sell it to CarMax. High tax in AZ is what kills this most of the time. Perhaps someone who lives in say Oregon could make this work and make a few bucks in the process!!!I hope you're joking... but if not...

So, what were the final specs and color of the car you actually ended up leasing?Wife is PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I may have overpaid from the beginning but my adjusted capital was $33,500 so in my mind that plus 6.5 FL tax should be all I owed... oh and after the dealer does the "Hokey Pokey" and cranks up other fees I am at $43,XXX. I guess 40 is the new 30 lol!!
Dude I had a $12,500 trade into the lease deal free and clear on top of the "rebates"That doesn't sound right, you should be somewhere around $38,000. When you bought it out, did you essentially pay 35x your monthly payment? If so that would explain where that 5k went, and that's not the proper way to buy it out.
Agreed, something does not seem right. Adjusted lease balance is what you owe tax on with the buyout. Assuming 33500 plus 6.5% is 35700. If you paid te 35x monthly payment the extra 5K is the RENT. Did the buyout amount come from the buyout page on KMF?That doesn't sound right, you should be somewhere around $38,000. When you bought it out, did you essentially pay 35x your monthly payment? I have to say this but it sounds to me like the financing dude either knew what he was doing or knew nothing at all. When doing mine he F'ed mine up 5 times before he got all the numbers in the right places. Funny that each time he re did it my payments when down. Leasing is easy to "hide" shit like this and its sounding like you signed something you didnt fully understand.Dude I had a $12,500 trade into the lease deal free and clear on top of the "rebates"
On the KMF website, there was nothing on buyout page but "Contact You Dealer"Agreed, something does not seem right. Adjusted lease balance is what you owe tax on with the buyout. If you want to PM me the details of the lease deal, id be happy to take a closer look at the numbers.
Bummer dude, you didn't consult with your finance minister first? You didn't tell her it was a present for her? Or did she want you to trade something else out of your stable?
I think you're finding out that that isn't necessarily the case, especially with big purchases that you can't return..No I didn't. It's easier asking for forgiveness than permission.
