It was. Track kind of sucks too. There is no way around the water box either
Yeah. Same at the track by me. I hate driving through it. But at least with AWD we don’t have to worry quite as much about hooking at launch. I’ll looking forward to getting another run in now that it’s cooler out.It was. Track kind of sucks too. There is no way around the water box either
I believe a couple tuners already have. See my quote below about this from another thread.Has anyone torn down the 3.3 yet? While the weak links may be the trans and all things behind it, the fact remains that certain components within the engine can only handle so much power like pistons, connecting rods, crank, etc. While it's apparent the 3.3 can handle "more than stock" I'll hold my breath calling it a new V shaped 2JZ.
This was discussed before but cant remember the names of the other threads. However, I feel like the consensus was that the engine & transmission limits were around 800HP/TQ!
I know there are tuners in S.Korea that added bigger turbos and are already pushing 500-600WHP. I havent read about any issues or failures yet so we probably have a little more to go before hitting transmission limits.
However, if I had to guess which part of our Stingers is the weakest link I would think its the LSD (Limited Slip Differential) (Limited Slip Differential). Unfortunately there are dozens of cases of differentials failing and I happened to be one of them. I'm hoping it was just a defective part, but that and the plugs/coils seem to be the weakest links so far...

I'll refresh the top list this weekend after i take the top AWD spot back! ☺

I'm hitting the track Saturday. Got some tork ECU tune updates from @TorkMe yesturday. 0-60 times have dropped more than .15 so hoping to break the AWD record.Good luck! I am trying to get some buddies to go to the track this weekend as well. I just got my car back from the dealer. They updated the transmission shift logic while it was there and it helped a lot with the hesitation on launch. Not sure if you are getting that as well.
@DaJackson can you make this the first post in this thread?
Here are the top times so far as people take their end of season cracks at the records.
RWD:
11.98 @TorkMe
12.29 @Jonnytig
AWD:
12.33 @sym
12.44 @Tonkabob
12.46 @BallsAwesome and @KLR STINGER *
MODS:
Torkme - tork ecu tune, tork intake, custom muffler sec cat delete and fmic
Jonnytig - JT intake, JT stage one cooler, JT catback, lap3
Sym - jb4, Stillen intake
Tonkabob - tork tune, custom catback, k&n panels
Ballsawesome - jb4, k&n intake
KLRStinger - jb4, magnaflow catback, junbl downpipe, intake.
*KLRStingers time is dragy.
But you are the only one! You are the fastest and the slowest.
So you hit 12.44 beforehand, and now ran a 12.7?So my AWD record breaking run didn't materialise. However, with these 60 foot and 330 times (1.90 and 5.22) this 92 octane tune is heading for 12.2s.
I just got my car back from paint on Thursday, headed directly to Tork for a beta 1+ tune update and racing on Saturday. We didnt have time to dyno but the car just rips on the road. On the track the ecu was pulling throttle to 25% throttle for 4-5 seconds starting around 70 mph just before the 1/8th mile.
Pretty odd running a 12.7 at only 101!
The 330 time is .11 faster than syms 12.33 record so low 12.2s look possible.
Mods are JT intake, Ultimate FMIC, custom catback, Tork 1+ beta ecu tune.
(I'm half way between the tork 1 and 1.5 tunes as i don't have secondary cat delete)

looks like the case, not surprising since his car was killing throttle halfway through the run. Is this overboost or is the ecu killing power over something else?So you hit 12.44 beforehand, and now ran a 12.7?
yeah. I think it’s ecu taking the wheellooks like the case, not surprising since his car was killing throttle halfway through the run. Is this overboost or is the ecu killing power over something else?

Was able to get it to the track this evening with a car club. The Stinger is an absolute beast on WOT now. Low to mid 11s on 95 octane, best run 11.2s 1/4 and I'm not done with it yet.
I dont think you can do that with stock turbos, love to see a slip or video before I pull out the credit card. There's a dude on the N54 tech forum who says he's deep into the 11s with JB4 and meth. Not sure if he's a member here but if true he's by far the fastest Stinger in NA.
Specifically he posted:
