Interesting Discoveries Thread (Good or Bad)

A couple things, first a smaller diameter wheel will boost the speed on the speedometer. (you wont be going as fast as it says), Secondly I hope the michelins are ''Y'' rated if you post over 150,imho.
and this guys opinion as well,
Speed rating and load index
Sorry if I'm being picky about language. The wheel diameter doesn't necessarily impact the speedometer. Only the outer diameter of the tire impacts the speedometer.

without a doubt, but a smaller wheel, tire, round rubber thingy will give you a false reading.

I discovered, after my wife drove my car and went inside, and I wanted to move it further into the carport, that the "easier to get in and out" setting for her seat is waaay closer to the steering wheel than my setting. I thought, previous to this, that "easier to get in and out" was a standard position that the steering wheel and seat moved to. Not so. It is relative to the driver settings last used.

I plop in and then heave my fat ass out by putting my elbows on the ''b'' pillar and steering wheel......still haven't figured out a better way yet

Yeah, me too. It’s been a while since I’ve had a low car. Also, I’m older, still I don’t mind the struggle as this has to be the best car I’ve ever owned.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Mine as well, clearly the best I ever will own..........

Did you know: if you hold down your seat heater (maybe cooling too?) for about 2 seconds it will turn off, instead of pushing the button 1, 2, or 3 times to shut it off.

This is for ponderous people. Nimble, light weight people don't have any problem using one leg at a time.

I see how you deftly avoided admitting whether you consider yourself "ponderous" ...

:p

My wife warned me to not offend. :P:unsure: I know light weight people who move ponderously too. And of course we all know very large people who move nimbly. Perhaps my use of the words "light weight people" associated with "nimble" was unnecessary. I was referring to myself, being both nimble and light weight. And yes, I get in and out with one leg at a time precisely because I do not want to crush the seat bolsters. I also avoid digging an elbow into the back bolsters when getting out for the same reason.

So,youre not a fat ass either as stated? lol

I don't know if this has been mentioned earlier, but my son pointed out yesterday that the speedo font on HUD changes to italics when the mode is changed to Sport. Same change in font happens to LCD number on the middle screen.

Not sure if this was mentioned before in the previous 39 pages, but I really like the Smart Vent feature. Had no idea what it was, just saw it pop up on my screen the one day and looked it up in the manual. Pretty cool!

The Optimas have the same system and though it may work well when it's warm out it will drive you nuts when it gets cold, especially if you park outside.

The car overrides whatever you select for climate control and forces cold air to blow onto the windshield until it's completely moisture free. In my Optima that meant my 8 mile, 20 minute drive would be at freezing cabin temps for 7 minutes and 18 miles before the car would let me warm up.

Interestingly I bought my Stinger in February and by that point had grown used to the feature so I started spending 10-15 minutes every morning warming things up.

Tl;dr: Smart Vent sucks in the cold. Get a remote starter.

If you have the rain sensing wipers on, the speed of the wipers varies with your speed.
I thought it varied depending how much water was hitting the glass?

Well me personally as a ponderous fat ass I’m going to use this video as proof from medical professionals that I enter and exit my vehicle correctly. My knees would collapse if I tried it the other way, particularly with this car.
