Well, the most comparable Porsche model would be the Panamera, which actually isn't sold with a manual transmission in the US. Actually the first generation only had manual in Europe but the 2017-current model doesn't have a manual anywhere, does it? The take rate is just so low it's not worthwhile for sporty family sedans. Lots of internet talk about how manual fans say companies should make manuals, but real world new car sales don't match up with internet talk unfortunately. I guess a lot of those people just buy manuals in their sports cars and have daily drivers with autos, or they just buy used cars with manuals.

I don’t know. Still can get all big US muscle cars with manuals. Porsche offers most of their models with manual option - heck Porsche had to release GT3 with manual due to complaints they only offered dual clutch initially. BMW, Audi, VW, all offer manuals. Mazda has many manual options, Honda , Toyota too.

Also many of cars that inspired Stinger design were manuals. Being involved in control of the car is part of the true Gran Turismo ethos . Plenty of GTs today that have manuals. ) on my assertion. In the modern world, the "gran turismo" has been "redefined". Manual transmissions are not part of the comfort and luxury package, except for hardcore drivers, which probably make up less than one percent of those interested in a gran turismo experience. So although the original cars were manuals, so were most cars "back then" if they were supposed to be high performance machines. Not so anymore.

Have you driven Stinger? I’m a long time Porsche guy. 356s, 914/6, 911, Boxster S, Cayman S. Raced 914s , boxster and Caymans. Hate to say it but I find 8 speed auto in the Stinger to be well suited to the car. And frankly more exciting to drive than my old manual Cayman S. Of course now my Street going Cayman is a race car and a little more exciting but now I wish it had a PDK.
I don’t know that you need to be hard core to be an enthusiast who enjoys a well engineered manual gearbox in a GT car. Let’s be honest Kia doesn’t have a manual worthy of a GT. That’s true, it does depend on factors as to how you treated your body through the years. I agree with that. Not all clutches are treated equally. My Veloster is light. The WRX, now that’s a heavy one!! Lol
