Stinger build page is active

There is alot of features that should be optional on lower models but instead they force you into the gt2 package. the pricing and build options are very disappointing. I'm holding out until a test drive to be available but at this point in time I think it looks like ill hold off save a few bucks more and buy the s5 sportback. Already test drove the s4 and s5 sportback this weekend.

The missing 360 Camera is the biggest let down in Stinger history for the USA consumers.

Not really. You just need to learn how to park. The same why it used to be done before drivers got lazy.

Leasing prices have been added to the mix, ranging from $355 per mo for the Stinger RWD to $614 for the GT2AWD. Those prices are based on a $2000 CCR x 36 mos with 12,000 miles. No competitive or loyalty credits are available, bummer. Prices are based on MSRP minus Kia's applied offers ranging from $4800 to $6800, if you can get them off the MSRP the lease cost will obviously come down. Taxes + fees are extra of course.

...but it's still not a bad feature to have. You might have your significant other park your car and slightly misjudge or even the valet driver. These features aren't always here to replace our driving skills - but to compliment them. Autonomous driving probably prevents a lot of accidents from people who are fully capable of good driving but who may have a moment of distraction...

Wow I think those are actually some great offers for the lease! $5,300 off for the GT1, it looks like they are really trying to pull in the BMW type leases!

Accidental double post... So it's only $47 more a month to go from the fully loaded GT1 AWD to the GT2 AWD... I think I'm going for the GT2 now. haha

Exactly. My significant other can't drive. Of course, that's why I don't let her drive my vehicles unless I've been drinking lol.

Financing and Leasing calculator went live today.
Inventory as well, at least on the west coast.

Gotta wait for the cargo ship to get through the Panama Canal for the east cost folks I guess.

...and there's the rub... There will be times. It happens. Features like this make life easier...

Agreed. In addition, for the people saying "just learn to drive better" stuff, let's get real here..

No one realistically needs a 365 hp twin-turbo V6
No one needs an 'aggressive' sounding muffler
No one absolutely needs ventilated seats or wireless charging
No one needs a sunroof or 19" wheels
No one is doomed to a deadly accident because they don't have all the sensors
No one MUST have a particular color like Deep Chroma Blue

That is not the point.

At the GT price level, it's not about what you NEED anymore. We're in what you WANT range.
If folks can live without, that's fine. Most people CAN technically live without any of these things. If some weren't planning on getting any of the upper trims anyway, then that's fine too. But it's also not necessary to have happy talk implying that folks should just being Ok with table scraps either. Yes, table scraps is a bit over the top, but the point is we are indeed missing out on stuff that everyone else at least has access to.

If comparatively speaking everyone else is getting these features offered in the top trim and I'm not, then that's a problem to me.
I'm not even talking about the fact that it's 10-12K cheaper in our closest neighbors (Mexico and Canada) while still getting some of these features. I'm just purely talking about not even being offered it.

And it doesn't even matter whether you use a feature much or not. I've got features on my lux SUV that I've never even really used, but it was included with the package and so I have them. And yes, I expect to have them even if I don't freakin' use them because that is what I expect for what I paid. At a minimum, it's added value for the vehicle whether I personally use it or not.

It's funny how we're having these discussions with Kia now. We used to talk like this on the forums years ago when things like navigation and heated seats first came out. There are so many things you don't REALLY need. I mean - it's not like you can't roll your window down and use a hand signal. :p Okay, it's cold. No biggie. It's raining - it's not acid. :p Heh. But when you talk about luxury cars it seems there are always people who find it crazy when a new high-tech feature comes out. I'm sure the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is filled with stuff we would never use. But - it's kinda cool that it's there. And then some people will use that feature every day...

I agree with netmegs post completely. I'll also add a couple of things.
1) All those "extra" feature really help the resale value of the car, especially now that more and more cars have them and a lot of them are becoming required over the next few years.
2) It is just super hard to swallow buying a 50k car where I can't get the same options that I can in a 30k Jeep compass, or any other number of cars that cost a lot less..

I consider myself a very good driver. I've held a CDL, driven straight trucks and tractor-drawn, and have no issues with back-in or parallel parking (either side). I make it a point to become very familiar with my vehicle clearances and visibility constraints; I use my mirrors primarily, so I'm not the least bit concerned about the expressed visibility limitations of the Stinger. I don't need the 360° SVM system, but I was impressed when I used it in a competitor's sports sedan, so I wanted it for my new $50K+ vehicle. I'm pretty much still fuming about how we were mislead, repeatedly, in multiple direct and indirect ways. On top of that, it seems like every other market announced so far is getting it, so we know it's fully engineered, and certainly already US-compliant (see other Kia models). Comparing the relative price differences to our northern and southern neighbor markets just adds salt to the wound.

I started shopping for cars a year ago, and I closely followed the Stinger because it continued to check all of the boxes as the product was revealed more and more. Hatchback-sports-sedan was the primary characteristic I was seeking, but the tech was a secondary interest for me (safety and otherwise). Although the GT performance sounds marvelous, the absolute numbers are only a tertiary interest; "generally sporty" would have been sufficient. Given my unhappiness with KMA's product option decisions, and the lack of any reasonable explanation, I'm seriously considering whether checking the hatchback sports sedan box is still worth giving up the tech features that many other competitors (lower-priced and not) offer.

Nearest Stinger to me is only 1,976 miles away, should I walk?

So apparently with the GT2 at least as of now on the configurator you basically do not get to choose your color combo. None of them have more than one interior option. I have to assume that is incorrect, there is no way a company could be that shortsighted.

For the most part this new info has basically sealed the deal that Im not buying a 2018 model. Question is just going to be whether or not the G70 looks better to me in person than it does in photos and I might consider it. Otherwise BMW 5 series may be my next car. I'm a huge Stinger proponent, showing everyone I hang out with the reviews etc.. but I cant justify buying the top of the line GT2 and:
a) Paying nearly 53k
b) Not having a 360 degree camera
c) Not having wireless charging
d) Not having LSD on the AWD
e) No suede headliner
f) Possibly no red exterior-red interior combo available (1st choice), possibly no red exterior-grey interior combo (2nd choice). I'd have to go with my 3rd choice which is blue with grey interior.

I had been trying to convince my wife, close friend, and family that the Stinger is a legitimate car to get in lieu of a BMW 5 series or Audi S7 but none of this is really helping. If anything it is convincing me they are right. If you want to compete with those brands then you have to have the tech features and ok sacrifice a little bit of interior quality but dont start ditching what little interior niceties you had like the headliner.
Already picked up my pre-order deposit. I had those things on my list which I wouldn’t take a delivery without. Thanked the guys at the dealership as they were nice and been very professional but they were as dumbfounded as everyone once the specs became official. Still like the car and willing to wait.

My dealer in Dallas told me they will have a few in stock within a few weeks and that Kia is only shipping 5% of the total allocation in the GT2 trim. I find that very interesting.

5% doesn't seem like much. I wonder what percentage of Mustang GT and Camaro SS sell over their smaller-engined counterparts...
