Would it make sense to have a open/live chat on this website?

The topic says it all. I believe it would make more sense to have a open chat, where we all can communicate instantly and get a quick response or at least have the option. I'm not trying to disrespect the admin/owner of the website in anyway.

No disrespect taken out of your idea. None at all. And I appreciate your taking the time share ideas that could help make this site a better place. The reason we don't have a chat room - which IS great for "instant gratification" - is that the data cannot be properly archived for later use. There will be people coming here for decades asking questions and learning things about their Kia Stinger. There will even be people here in fifty years looking for information on how to restore an old Kia Stinger they found lying in a junk yard.

While a chat room would be great for that quick answer right now - it will only serve the person or people actively viewing the chat room. There will be millions of people visiting this site looking for the same answer or answers provided at that one specific moment. This is what a forum is for. Forums maintain the answers to those questions indefinitely - for all to see - for as long as the internet is alive as we know it...
