Jail time likely. Car/bike impounded certainly. A guy on here told his story about passing as soon as he got on the freeway, and when he looked down he was surprised to see 108 MPH and descending. The cop who pulled him over said he was going faster than that, and impounded his Stinger. Of course, I think from the way the story was told to me that the cop had an attitude. But that just increases the danger of bad things happening.
(I once got a ticket for not stopping at a STOP sign: I saw the cop car on the other side of the road as I pulled up to the corner of a "T" intersection, looked both ways, went as slowly as pedestrians do, and proceeded around the corner. He "U" turned, flashed his lights, walked up and told me the evil news. I was seriously annoyed. When I explained my understanding of a functional "stop" to be as slow as walking speed before proceeding, he said: "Actually, sir, the ordinance requires a 'back rock' on the wheels and a complete stop for at least three seconds." I objected that nobody negotiates stop signs like that, nobody. And he simply handed me the citation. I appealed it before a city judge, who was likewise unsympathetic. That was when I realized that cops in West Jordan are revenue gatherers and I de facto hate all traffic cops around here. I still "stop" the same as always if they are not around; but I look for cops all the time in this town, and I'll never "stop", when one is around, without that "back rock and full three seconds".)
