Wind noise from driver side mirror

Mine went away after using electric tape to plug the gap where the mirror folds. Obviously not a perm fix but that seems to be where its coming from. Maybe different gap tolerances in manufacture explains why some have it and some don’t.

I'll try this. Makes sense and also explains why the passenger side does not do this but the drivers side does (as well as some cars and not others).

Samething is happening to me and it’s driving me crazy. Anyone happen to find a fix? I’m going to see if Kia can just replace the mirror

Did you try the tape stopgap described above? His whistle is apparently occurring between the swivel point of the folding mirror. At least you'll know yes or no.

Mine does it too. Ill try the recommendations and see if they help.

Just bought mine last week and I'm getting this whistling too, drives me nuts when i have the windows down (which I do a lot). I haven't taped anything yet but I guess I can try that to see where its coming from.

Took mine to the dealership to have the mirror replaced under warranty and haven’t heard the whistle since.

Hey guys just got my stinger two weeks ago and was wondering if anyone has run into this issue. When I get up to speed, say 40 or higher, I notice a very faint whistling noise coming from the driver side mirror. If I pull the mirrors in while at a steady speed it goes away or if I drive with the window down and put my hand in front of the point of the mirror it goes away. I think its coming from where the top of the mirror and the bottom half connect, but as anyone had this issue before?
I have a 2020 GT1 and when I get up to speed like you at 40-45 I hear a whistling sound as well, but I believe mine is on the passenger side window since once I close up that window it goes bye bye.
If I keep the drivers side window up and the passenger window down, or both down I hear that darn sound.

Anything ever happen with your side view whistling sound that is happening on my 2020 GT1?

Mine does it too. Very annoying.

Also wonder if this happens to anyone else - driving 40 mph+ with all windows closed and the passenger window all the way down it creates a very loud whop whop whop sound and the cabin pressure is intense enough to cause my ears to pop. Does not happen with drivers window down and others up. Have not tried back windows. Anyone else? Or any idea why this might be happening?

Wow! Major post duplication, there, @Glen1023. "Patience, Grasshopper". :P

Mine went away after awhile. 25k miles and no whistle

I purchased a 2020 Stinger GT2 and have this same whistle issue on the driver's side. I'm glad I found this post. Sounds like the only fix is either using tape, replacing the mirror or driving 25,000 miles. :) I can show this to Kia so they are aware I'm not the only one with this issue.

Can you take a picture of the location where you put the tape to stop the whistle sound?

So I finally did get around to taking it in over this while it was in for the recall. The dealer looked it and then had to call kia to ask them about it. It now has to go back again for them to perform "testing" on it. Kia so far won't replace the mirror and would rather do whatever testing they think will fix it.
