• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Will I order a Stinger?

I´ve ordered now the "E" Badges all around the car.
It will be delivered now at week 43 to the dealer, he will install the bastuk exhaust system and than I will get it in week 44.
I´ve now looked for the differences in equpment in german and us versions.
I think all the options you can find in your Atlantica Model will be in the normal german GT.
After I´ve asked if there are differences in the MY2019, what I will get and the MY2018 I got the following answer:
There will be a frameless display for navigation system
multi color ambient lightning
a mechanical locking differential
HUD will now display the speed limits
Smart Neutral Coasting what will save 2-3% fuel in smart mode

Greets

Also an „improved“ Sound of Exhaust Somebody Wrote .. whatever that means

@berndes You're still waiting for your Stinger? You seem to be a patient fellow!

"Improved sound of exhaust" must refer to the piped in engine sound through the sound system speakers. The whole concept of piped in engine sound annoys and mystifies me: why pipe in enhanced engine, when you are trying to sound proof the cabin? Then somebody theorized that it is part of the technology of noise reduction: you use opposite frequencies to cancel each other out. So, engine noise to counter/mask road and wind noise, etc.? I don't know. It's too technical for me.

In Germany the stock sound is extremely poor. I think they have done something on that issue. Because of that I´ve ordered the performance exhaust system.
The other thing is the sound in the cabin. I´ve had a testdrive withe the infinity Q50 what has active noise reduction build by Bose, what works great. I´ve driven 250 km/h without hearing any noise in the cabin, no wind, street and engine. It´s like the Bose noise reduction headphones and work great, but I want to hear my car ;)

Well, I can hear my car! The air and tire noise I could do without. If there was some way to turn those up or down, along with the engine, I'd be all for that. My Stinger is a very quiet car. But I am sure that more expensive cars are both noiser and a lot quieter (I say this without experience, only responding to what others have said).

Hi Merlin, I agree with you. Icould do without the tire and wind sound, too. But I would like to heare the engine a little bit more in the outside and in the cabin I would like more real sound and not the synthetical soud from the multimedia environment. My brother has had an Audi RS5 and RS6 in both you heared nothing inside and outside until you have changed the mode to for excample "sport or individual" than the cars have opened the exhausts and the sound was extremely brute. I hope to have such an effect with the performance exhaust I ordered. I give you a feedback after the car is delivered.

Hi berndes! How is your Stinger? I think we have more or less the same one. I've done about 6700 km with mine and so far so good. The fuel consumption is now about 8,5 l/100km for extra-urban/highway driving. I don't really drive in the city so I can't say anything about that.
What kind of fuel are you using? I've tired 95, 99 and 100 and didn't really feel any difference.
Also, which engine does yours have? Mine has the Euro 6d-temp version (B5P41) which only has 245hp(180kw). I was a bit disappointed by this as the dealer didn't mention anything about it and I only found out from the car's technical sheet. Apparently they lowered the power to meet the new EU emissions standards.

Isn't that "only" a reduction of 10 HP? You have the 2.0L, which comes with 255 HP. Other than on a track, being timed, could you even tell the difference? Would increasing the octane increase the HP? It's entirely probable that the dealer didn't know about the alteration either.

I've got mine since 3 weeks now and lovin' it very much !! Belgian GT-Line trim (it's all included except for the 2 extra cylinders, huge government taxes and nappa leather).

I also have a 'reduced' version with 245 HP and found somewhere on a german forum that it is due to the Euro-6D Temp norm.

I will have it dyno'd somewhere in april.

After 4 months and 9000 Kilomertern I would like to give a first feedback:
the 4 missing Ps of the 2019 model can be noticed very well. The performance and dynamics feel much worse. For this reason I put the car to the test and it came out the following values: 348 HP with 548 NM (404 ft.lb) torque. As I found this unacceptable, I had the control unit reworked by ctd-germany. Now it is 415 HP and 650 NM (480 ft.lb) torque.

I haven't driven out the car yet, because either the weather was too bad or too much traffic. My current top speed is 280 km/h (174 m/h), but there is noticeably more in it.

I will install in the middle of May a KW Variant 3 coilover suspension kit and get in two weeks my summer tires 20 inches on Schmidtrevolution Drago aluminum rims. If everything is ready so far, I will make here times a few pictures posts and in any case a video of 0 on maximum speed. If someone wants to see my Stinger on the test stand, can look at youtube the video of ctd-germany. There you can also see the acceleration from 100 to 200 km/h (62 to 125 m/h) before and after the tuning.

Regards
Berndes

Autobahn envy, here.

We have got the Autobahn, but you don`t have the german TÜV ..... so everyman has pro and cons :)
It all started in Germany. But the world is run by "state inspectors" and regulations. What makes you think we don't have that over in the US? :P

because I visited the US sometimes and saw cars what are impossible in Germany ;)

The same can be said in reverse. Over zealous catalytic converter regulation killed the VW Bug, which is a greatly fun car. The replacement "Bug" isn't remotely as fun. I haven't seen a single modified one, but the old Bug was a delight to modify; even I tried a limited attempt to modify my '71 Super Beetle. You still see an occasional one (a lot more common than Stingers, btw). I've heard of other really nice cars that don't make it over here because they are too uneconomical to market. But I hadn't considered that the same holds true "over there" for our cars.

Maybe it would be a better world if governments mostly just got out of the way and let people market their stuff. I'm sure our shared economies would benefit greatly.
