Hey folks - was looking to possibly get Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s but it looks like they don't have 225/40/R19 (our front spec on staggered AWD setup - not sure about RWD), the closest I could find was 235/35/R19. Anyone running wider tires than our stock specs, especially in the front? Not sure about the smaller side wall too, wondering if that would be a problem.

Also, how wider would you guys have been able to go on the back? I have a G70 (same wheel specs as the Stinger), just tracked it yesterday and I was blown away by how amazing it did and got me wondering if I should get some Cup 2's along with better brakes pads/fluid and sway bars...

Reference to my review on the G70 forum (hope its fine to cross post here): Tracking your G70 - anyone else?

Thanks!

I just reacquainted myself with your intro thread from last year. :) (How's the sunroof holding up?)

I've read of the 235 in front without issues. Even a 255 is possible with enough offset or spacers. Wider than 255 is not doable, something will rub. That said, I know that mucking around with OD is not a good idea with AWD. I think we're "allowed" up to c. 2% change without issues? Not sure anyone knows for sure.

If you go wider in front you'll induce an amount of oversteer. But you'll probably go wider in the rear too. Lots more room in the back on the Stinger, so, I suppose on the G70 too. I know of 10.5 wide wheels in the back (and understeer here we come :p).

255 40/r19 in front and 285 35/r19 in the rear here. No issues though I did have to run 5mm spacers for my rims in the front. that may not always be the case though depending on the rims you use.

Hey there - Sunroof is perfect, no issues whatsoever. I was super anxious because of that but so far so good.

At this point I'd like to keep the stock wheels, perhaps 235 front won't be much of an issue eh? Wondering about the speedometer too because of the difference in sidewall.

Overall I'm extremely impressed with this platform, this car in stock form is already a fantastic handling car, leaps and bounds in comparison when I took my Q60 mostly stock (it also had just a JB4) - the infiniti handled like crap, I left the track that day super sad and from that experience I started to mod my Q like crazy in pursuit of a better handling car. It took a lot of mods to get it good at the track.

Then here I come with a mostly stock G70 and the smile on my face after the first session said it all. Such a great chassi, so controllable, so much feedback to the driver. I felt in complete control (except for braking).

Can only imagine with a few upgrades how much of a track kart this thing would become.

Thanks! Would you happen to know how much wider we could go on the rear with stock wheels?

PS: how do I like your Indy 500s? Have u tracked your car?

that depends on if you have the 8.5s or 8s, but the factory staggered goes to 255 in the rear so thats probably safe.

I have not tracked my car yet, however I will be going to the dragstrip sometime soon. The Indy 500s are very grippy, have done several 8ish lb boost launches and they dont spin (granted, im AWD) and they are alright in the rain as long as you dont push the car when its wet.

Don't forget, if awd you do need to keep the same aspect ratio front to rear or at least measure diameter of front and rear to be close

I’m also running 235/40 and 265/35s on the stock wheels with no issues.

I’m running RWD at stock height F: 245/35/19 on 8.5” wheels & R: 275/30/19 on 9.5” wheels with no issues at all.

This conversation would be much more meaningful if everyone would list their OFFSETS along with their rim widths and tire sizes.
