Sorry there are so many links, but how do I spot the cheap crap from the good quality product.

They all say they are from South Korea, but from reading on here there is a lot of cheap Chinese knock off stuff out there.

Sorry if this is a dumb post, but I want to order some and want to avoid ordering something that will not last.

By looking at the links, its hard to tell, as they all use the same pictures (for the aluminium inserts) However if you look seller kmotors sells the kmp trade inserts and they have used the pictures of the other and have put their logo on them. Which indicates that they are selling their own version of the inserts, they added the logo on the pics to prevent any copyright claim form the original makers (not sure how the copyright laws work in s.korea). Other than that if I were in your situation I would go with seller rpmtrade or automecca. FYI rpm trade is a member here.

I have purchased several items from rpmtrade and kmp trade. They sent the right stuff and it arrived faster than promised.

Yeah, that was me. All of the door catch plates sold on ebay are just flat pieces of metal. Because the door handle pockets are recessed, it is true that some modification is needed to get them to work. One member here posted that they used 3M tape to fill in the gap between the back of the catch plate and the inside of the door handle pocket.

In other words, the problem is more with the design of the catch plates themselves. To my knowledge none of the sellers offer catch plates that are plug and play.

I have just changed my mind, I will now just leave it as it is.

So far I have decided to do absolutely nothing to my car (when I get it)... well I will connect it to my phone for Android Auto and will decide on 3 or 5 flash for the one touch indicators.

I know, crazy right.....

All those aluminum plates are the same, it's sole decision of the seller what price he sells them for and what shipping method he uses. Ebay sellers ALL use cheapest method for packages up to 2 kilos so prices are not high. I use EMS only and shipping cost alone is as much as everything they offer (part and shipping).
All the plates available today are just flat pieces of metal or plastic and all need some additional work to make them fit, to be fixed in position(not to grind edges because shape wouldn't be correct).

One of the smartest things I've read today ....

I've been on a number of car and motorcycle forums, and often read about people rushing to do mods just because they read somebody else did it, or because somebody states that it's a 'must do mod'. Often followed a while later by posts asking how to remove a cosmetic mod without damage, or asking why their car/bike doesn't sound/run/drive properly anymore, and what can they do to fix it.

Congratulations on the Stinger purchase! I'll be getting mine in a couple days as well. Drive it, enjoy it, and spend some quality time with it - after a while you'll likely have a whole different outlook on what, if anything, needs changing up ...

Yes, hard to hide some of those mods, and it does risk warranty. The car is a rolling computer and everything talks to everything else. My only mods are badges (so far) and only on the hubs and back hatch lid with OEM stuff.

Looks good! Did they install overtop the existing plates or did you have to remove them first?

^ Looking at how much the plate protrudes, I'm guessing he installed over the existing concave catch plate. So did you use foam in between to secure it? When I tested mine out, I found there wasn't much finger space to get your hand in there to open the door - I mean, you can obviously still open the door but your fingers will touch the plate.
