Why HKS Plugs?

Yes, gap to .022". Use the gapping tool I show in the video otherwise you can damage the plugs while gapping.

That's alot fancier than the pliers I re-gapped mine with.

Problem with pliers is they can leave burs on the electrode that can lead to preignition and other hard to diagnose tuning headaches.

Do you have a link to that tool? Ive seen similar ones but not that exact one.

We're making a BMS branded one right now with a minor improvement. :) But, I just found that one on amazon. 14mm plug gaping tool.

A trick I learned, if you have C-clamps around, put the plug into a plug socket, and gently press with the clamp. :)

If you wanted to be a rebel, you could sacrifice a $4 clamp from HF, and weld your socked onto the stationary end.

edit: Oh! Just saw you're making one - made sure it wasn't your product on amazon before posting my tip!!

edit2: Take a close look at the ground electrode(s) of a performance plug and compare to one from your lawn mower or similar. The electrode is chamfered and smooth for a reason. Pliers, or even using those little tools with a "fork" to bend the electrode, will mark the surface. No big deal in your lawnmower or minivan, but it can be a problem in a performance engine - for me, learned that one on motorcycles.

Exactly what i planned to do :D these gappers do seem pretty nice though. If i can get them locally ill definitely buy them before i put the plugs in sunday.

If all goes well would you be willing to help me?? I don’t have tools and can’t find a shop to do it. I’ll throw some cash your way for the help!

unless @Terry@BMS wants to throw his in my jb4 box that is shipping today :D <3 lol

You can find a variety of types of gappers at auto parts store. Maybe not a feeler gauge but definitely something that will do the trick.

At the moment its looking like I will be using my normal tools to gap the plugs cant find these anywhere to ship and deliver by tomorrow

Thanks

I'll have to check with Jason here and get back to you. I left it on his plate with a few of our other CNC projects.

Did you read my post above?

I'm absolutely not trying to take money out of our fine and supportive vendors pockets, but if it's holding you up from doing the work, you can easily and safely adjust them without a special tool.

Hi eflyguy
I have a pending order to pay for this week for a JB4 and other items with delivery to Australia so I was hoping to pay for only one lot of shipping as it gets quite expensive.

Do you know if they will ship to Australia ? Thanks for letting me know

That would be great Terry, I have set up a order for a JB4 / Bluetooth adapter and other parts with Christine. I would appreciate if I could get one of these added to order to save on shipping, its not cheap sending to Australia. I can give you the order number if it helps ?

Thanks !!
