Who else is working over the Silly Season?

Just wondering how many of us are "working" or away from home over this silly season? I am currently on site, have been since the 11th Dec and only finish my swing on the 1st Jan (and I'm on night shift...aaarrrggghhhhh)
Merry Xmas to all of you out there in STINGER Land, hope you all have a great time with loved ones, and to those like myself at work, stay safe and enjoy your RnR when ever it is that you finally get to go home.

Doing it now on Christmas morno_O. Work all public holidays I'm rostered on. But I go home each day or night. Happy Xmas stay chilled and enjoy the time off when it comes. Don't fret your putting food on the table as my wife says.

I am normally away from home for 2 weeks at a time, (I work FIFO offshore) but did an extra week this swing to cover one of the guys who just had a baby... At least I'll be finishing work NY's day and then off on a 12 day cruise around Thailand and Malaysia before heading back to Perth on the 14th Jan, hopefully get my new toy around the 17th Jan so will have plenty of time to break it in before I head back to site on the 29th Jan...

You won't want to go back to work after getting the new Stinger.

Not working at work as such but I’ve got 14 people coming over for Xmas lunch in 6 hours time so for the last few days I’ve been working my arse off cooking and prepping food for today. At this stage the only thing keeping my Christmas spirit alive has been my intake of spirits while I’ve been at it. :)
 
Im off work now until the 6th January, a Merry Christmas to all & wishing everyone a healthy & happy 2020.

Christmas Eve day shift, Christmas Day and Boxing Day night shift, NYE day shift (on overtime), was meant to be New Years Day as well but they cancelled it which annoyed me because it was on overtime at public holiday rates which would’ve started at double time and moved to double and a half after the first 2 hours. Was looking forward to the extra $.

Roasted a full pork belly. 5 KG of chicken wings and 2 whole beef eye fillets in the smoker now. Filets will be reverse seared before serving. Half a leg of ham and 2 kg of tiger prawns. Tomato, mozzarella and basil salad, watermelon and feta salad. 2 trifles, a strawberry frozen yoghurt and 5 different flavours of ice cream for dessert. I can’t wait until it is all over.

Sounds like my world. No work but it seems I’m the only one in my small family that knows how to use a knife or turn on an oven/stove. So needless to say all the cooking and prep is on me. It’s currently 6:15am, the rest are sleeping and I’m about to get some spirits into some coffee and await the hungry risers. It’s going to be a long day.
