White stinger emblem change paint chips. Bad quality paint job?

Yes I am. So I can’t complain... now I’m just looking for a place to do my rebadging for me lol. Ughh i bet it’s not going to be cheap. But I already have the badges with me ready for use, but I’d rather someone else do it this time.
They covered the paint chips on your front hood? I just had the same issue not as much as yours today but still hurts when i look at it

Yep good advice
I also used turtle wax. Did not use heat gun on rear, debadg went well no paint chips... was gonna do a good rinse off but had to help wife w baby diaper emergency
Later in the day noticed some of the turtle wax adhesive remover pooled between light and bottom edge of trunk. Melted paint. Bummer. Expensive bummer.
Look under the license plate. I am not sure the turtle wax caused this but both of my stingers had cracked plastic straight down from the camera under the license plate. Looks like some goo gone went in the badge hole and somehow reacted with the plastic and cracked on both cars under the plate. I can’t say for sure it was the goo gone but it happened on both cars in the same place.

I have that same crack!!! I thought someone damaged it somewhere. I didn’t even think of it as a defect. So weird. Luckily it’s almost impossible to see

Kia should replace the entire part under warranty. The replacement part is unpainted. Have the paint shop fill in the holes when they paint the replacement part under warrently.

By part do you mean the entire hatch or is there a separate part?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I love this forum. I would have never even guessed this was a known issue. Thank you very much!
i wouldn’t mention the use of goo gone or my “goo gone theory”.
Just let them know you noticed the crack issue and you would like it repaired under warranty. The paint is not why you are bringing it in. They may want to focus on the paint and blame you for it. That’s not why you are bringing it in. You need to keep the warranty discussion focused on the faulty cracked part.
The warranty work will replace the cracked part and will take care of any paint issues you may have. It will
Also give you the opportunity to cover the emblem holes. I don’t have any emblems on the back of my red one anymore

Is this affected on all Stinger models? Or just certain trim/ colorS?

Goo gone wouldn’t crack plastic.
I agree, but goo gone shouldn’t have melted the Kia paint either. It was just odd both of my stingers cracked in the same place right in line with the badge holes where the goo gone “may have dropped” . The picture shows the plastic discoloration right below the holes where the goo gone may have dropped and right where the cracks happened.
That said, I agree, goo gone wouldn’t crack the plastic. It is just odd.

Could these be from either over tightening the screws for the license plate or using the wrong size diameter/thread for the screws? The crack appears to be deeper than just paint. Agree the others that goo gone (or any adhesive remover) will not crack paint. If it sits on the surface long enough it could eat away the clear coat and underlying paint, but no way will it crack.

Hi guys,

New member here and I need some help. I’m having this same exact issue although I also have a crack in the tail light as well?! What should I do? I’ve had this car for ONE WEEK!

The site won’t let me post pictures..

Bring it back- should be covered under warranty
Had both stingers with cracks and also had cracked tail light

If the dealer has any questions on what’s can be covered have them call Jose at century KIA service in Tampa. We are on a first name basis.... probably because I have been there with my stingers so many times or I am only one of two people that has 2 of these.
