Which Intake System should I buy? Stillen or BMS

I’d really appreciate some good advice. I have a 2019 GT1. I don’t know a lot about intake systems, but I’m sure someone here has a wealth on knowledge on the subject.

Which one should I get...or is there something better out there?

How is the over all air intake sound?
Do you constantly hear the air sucking noise when accelerating....or only at specific points?

Regular driving in smart/eco mode is similar to stock noise levels... Only when you push down on accelerator or in sport mode do you hear the intake sucking in air. .

But it's def a nice sound when on a spirited drive... Especially with jb4 installed at the same time as intakes

You have to be >30% throttle or so to hear any difference. So basic city driving will not have any sort of change until you're a little more aggressive.

I installed this in my 2019 GT1 last week. The sucking noise was basically constant with almost any amount of acceleration. It pretty much sounded like the sunroof was open a half inch at all times and it felt like there was less power. I’m thinking that it may be defective. Everyone that rode in the car commented that it didn’t sound right and was really annoying. I ended up removing it because the sound was embarrassing and extremely annoying to constantly listen to. Now it sounds and feels so much better without it. Maybe I just had a bad unit.

I have had my BMS installed about 3 wks ago and absolutely love it. It sounds so cool and even the old friends of ours said that they thought that the car was more powerful and that the car seemed faster LOL.

You sure you aren’t Terry Burger, owner of BMS? That’s quite a review. LOL

Weird, are you sure it was installed correctly? I can't see how a simple intake like that could be defective without a visible hold in a weld or something like that.

Bms does use K&N filters. . Just to avoid confusion . .

Yes, it’s really weird. I triple checked everything and even took the whole thing off and apart, then reinstalled it again. I had the same results both times. My friend kept saying that it didn’t sound right, something is wrong with this thing. I drove it in all settings, eco, smart, sport, etc. It just sounded like the sunroof was constantly open a little bit.

After I uninstalled it, my friend kept making the noise while I drove because he thinks he’s funny.

I think what you experienced may be the normal sucking noise you get with aftermarket intakes.

As far as Stillen goes it's a PITA to fit but it does provide a plastic heat shield. That shield MIGHT make it more quiet than the BMS but I wouldn't bet on it.

You must have a heavy foot which could explain why you hear it all the time.
