You might have to have a dealer order an AWD if you are way down in palm tree land. Random Kia shipments seem to send AWD's north and RWD's south unless someone asks for one. If you get an AWD, make sure you also specify whether you want the 19" wheels (187 mph) or the 18" wheels (130 mph computer limited) version. A lot of AWD's come with the all-weather 18" tires. Caveat emptor.

You need to find a dealer who will order a car the way you want it. If you spend time looking around on car lots, you'll never get your car. They can order cars from the port or out of the pipeline. Unfortunately many dealers only want to clear their lots, not sell cars people really want.

Of all the cars on my list below, only the GTO was a spontaneous buy off the transport. Every other car I've ever owned since 1970 was custom ordered to my specs.

Eh? Did the speed limiter for the MY19 go up AND down? Because MY18 19" staggered rims have the advertised (bragged) 167 top speed; and the 18" AWD rims come OEM with a limiter at 140, not 130.

Buy a gt1 awd. I did off the lot and drove home same day.

I want to buy it from a specific dealership with whom I have a good relationship. I will try again to see if I can order one. I have only bought six NEW cars before, all the others I have bought have been pre-owned, and the six new I bought were off the lot. Thank you for the advice. I rented an AWD GT2 from Turo last weekend and it sold me. I am just hanging on for the 2019 because I really want the surround view camera. My city has granite curbs and parallel parking is a regular occurrence.

I didnt realize before I started to test drive that having the dealer order what I wanted was an option. They happily placed an order for me a '19 GT2 RWD Hi Chroma Red after we negotiated price. Will be here by mid december.
