Hi - got myself a 2019 Stinger GT2 a couple of month ago and love it. I live in Chicago and winter is coming fast, so I'm starting to look at Winter Tire/Wheel combo packages on Tirerack.com. My question is about the sizing of my normal tires/wheels and how that translates to winter tires. My current rims are the Stinger 19" wheels you see on every 2019 GT. Even though the wheels are 19" (I measured them), the tires are all 225/45R18's. Does that sound right? Why would I have R18's if the rims are 19"? I don't know much about tires/wheels and everything that goes into it. They obviously fit fine, but that seemed weird to me.

2nd part of my question is if my current rims are 19":, do I need to get 19" wheels / tires for my winter package or can I get 18" wheels? My concern is that the 18's won't be big enough give room for the Brembo brake calipers, which seem very snug right next to the 19's.

would appreciate input who has dealt with this on their Stinger. Thanks!

Quite a few of us have gone with 18" Fast FC04 wheels, that's what I'm running for a winter setup and really like them.

My setup is:
Fast FC04
18"x8"
+30 offset

Michelin Ice-x xi3 Tires
225 45r

This setup fit over the Brembo calipers without issue.

If the numbers on the sidewall state 225/45 R18 then you have 18" wheels. Period. No way a 18" tire goes on a 19" wheel and holds air.

What @Hockster said (before I could:P). You have 18" wheels. If it were me, I'd get winter tires on those OE 18s and then come spring, get some lighter wheels and Michelin PS4S (or an equivalent performance, summer tire); then you just swap wheels/tires with no hassle.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
