In Perth private plates cost over $600.

Anyone have trick personalized plates yet? I ordered mine today but couldn't get exactly what I wanted.

1st Choice: STUNG
2nd Choice: GTSTUNG
3rd Choice: GT2STNG
4th Choice: GTVENOM
5th Choice: GOTVENM
6th Choice: VENOMUS
7th Choice: VENMOUS

All were taken.

Ended up with GTVENMM

Not really sure if I like it yet. Never had a personalized plate before. Thinking that prude bystanders that I blast by can remember it alot easier.

So who already had STUNG and GTSTUNG and on what kind of car?

I had one on a motorcycle a long time ago: MR GONE

I thought it was pretty clever until someone pointed out that the vanity plate just makes it easier for people to remember and report to police when I blow by them at 2x the speed limit in one of the canyons.

D'oh!

Of course, I quit driving that fast on public roads a long time ago, right after I discovered how much more fun a track was.

Anyway, any time I see a vanity plate on a fast car, I always think about that.

Thumbs up for your comments about this... It's the singular reason I've never had a vanity plate before.

I will say that it's a whole lot harder to see a motorcycle plate when they blast by you. Where I live, putting a tinted plastic cover over it isn't an option either- you'd be less likely to get a ticket with no plate at all.

There's just so many unique opportunities with a new car name like 'stinger' to pass it up. I'm sure I'm going to groan every time I write a registration check, too. Maybe I'll give it up next year.

Bought the plate to keep it reserved. Waiting (im)patiently for DCB or PM GT2 AWD with a black interior. If they don't show up in the US (as US spec!) in '19, I'll punt and buy a used Super Bee. Doesn't have the same bite though on my current '13 Mini Countryman All4s........
