Whats up with all the people angry at the Stinger?

It was on some audi/bmw forum. They said owning a german car out of warranty will cost you about $3k-$5k so set that aside every year. Idk about an official source though.

For the record there are quite a few Mercedes, BMW, and Audi lease deals that will cost the owner less than $5k a year. Something to consider is although they have higher MSRPs the cars are often discounted much heavier to get butts in seats. It isn't uncommon to see leasees paying 10-15% under MSRP for their vehicle. And if a leasee holds out until year end that figure can easily jump to 20+% for a previous MY vehicle.

Shit, if I could get an RS5 at the end of the year for 20% less than MSRP I would switch over if I could afford it...

It's generally their high volume cars that they discount heavily. Think A4s and A6s, 3 and 5 Series, and C and E Classes. And of those the Ms/AMGs/RS variants receive the smallest discounts.

Figured lol. Much rather have a stinger than an A, 3, 5, C or E.

The looks of the Stinger are hard to beat. But even the non-performance variants of the German sedans have engine options that can keep up with or surpass Stinger performance.

Lol I had a conversation with a customer you guys would probably find amusing. The guy was older and hanging out in the service area watching me work on his truck. He would ask a couple questions about the process and what not. Finally, he starts talking about cars in general. We had the classic import vs domestic debate and then he asks what I drive. Told him I just bought my Kia Stinger. He goes off on a tangent about how they are crap cars and throwaway cars etc. He does all this, while I'm changing both of the turbos on his f150 because they both crapped out at 32k miles. If you pull up his service history it's full of repairs that shouldn't happen at such low miles lol

I get one of two reactions from people when they ask what I'm driving and I give them the spill that it cost way less than the BMW and Audi's it competes against but is faster and designed by some of the same enginers. That car is beautiful and wow!!! Or ehhh it's a grociery car that goes fast but that only happened once. My dealer in atlanta doubled the kia warranty. That's rite 20 years 200,000 miles . Haters have no idea what they are talking about if the dealer is willing to do that

True statement. Thing is they tend to cost about the same or more when equipped similarly and might be smaller and lack some options. Checked the competition when I was first looking into the Stinger, Audi A3 is a nice looking ride but was cramped, A5 (what I planned on getting since I first saw it years ago, until the Stinger was announced) was more money with a 4 cylinder. BMW was pretty much the same but cost even more. Saw a 5 in M-Sport trim like my old car, mid $60k, then realized it was a 4 cylinder, the 6 was in the $75k+ range but didn't give me that Stinger ride and handling. I did the research as my wife thought the Germans would be better. She conceded after the test drives that other than the 540, the others didn't feel luxurious and for the price and what the Stinger offered, it was the better deal overall.

I feel it is only a matter of time before there is a Korean A, M, S competitor. Hyundai N line is getting started, Genesis is building out their range and KIA is adding sporty versions. The Stinger and G70 are great cars already, they can only come up with better.

Before focusing on a track competitor for the Germans i'd rather they improve their dealership experiences. It will tough to pull in customers who can afford an Audi RS when your mechanics leave oil smudges all over the car and dent the side skirts.

Can confirm had my side skirt dented during a oil change and was denied a repair/replacement...At the end of the day the weakest point in the Kia experience are the dealers & service departments.

Do tell - how did you get them to double the warranty?

Looking through YouTube and Reddit (and other car forums), people are EXTREMELY angry at the Stinger saying its a poor mans car, it sucks, blah blah blah. They are angry its compared to BMWs and Audi's and MB lower trim levels. I guess people who own the Stinger call it a BMW M class killer, did people really say this? I don't care what people think because this car and the warranty will hold up super well. Hell, my 2007 Kia Sportage held up well, I don't understand the mantra "Kias were shit until like 2017". I guess I'm just dumbfounded at how much hate this car gets with no objective evidence backing it up.

Rant over...

It's just people that don't want to admit that it's a good car. There was an article posted from I believe MotorTrend a while ago that had the Stinger against a Charger and in the comments the Dodge fanboys were actually criticizing the Kia's interior quality. They drive a Dodge Charger and are criticizing another cars interior quality...let that sink in.

Great point! I LOVED my SRT Charger, but the interior was bland at best. The Stinger GT2 interior is much more Luxurious.

Yeah don't get me wrong, I like the Charger a lot, it's a good looking fun car. But come on, they can't criticize any other cars interior with the quality of that one. To me, it just shows the blind loyalty some car guys can have.

They double it on their own with every sale. Only requirement is that a licensed mechanic works on it. Does not even have to be maintained there.

It probably doesn't carry to the 2nd owner, they know that it's going to switch hands well before the standard 10yr warranty is up so it's mostly just smoke and mirrors. Sounds cool though haha

Agree . It's just a sales tactic but in my case it's good to know as I've kept all my cars for at least 12 years. Your are correct it does not transfer over to next person. I had no idea about that offer until after I bought the car. They just happened to be the only dealership in the area that didn't Jack up the price on me after I arrived or some other lame poor customer service move. Dealership experiences getting the car was horrible. Owning the car grear

I didn't buy my AWD Stinger GT Limited to please other people, and I could care less about what they think. I was attracted by its good looks, was thoroughly impressed when I test drove it, so I bought it for myself, and I'm enjoying every minute in it!

Totally agree, I bought this car for me & after two years I still enjoy driving it, just looking at it puts a smile on my face.
My message to those that dislike or hate it, avert your eyes & don’t look at it & go play with what you like, in the end each to their own.

A True Car Enthusiast can appreciate a car based on what it offers, be that power, looks which is subjective to the eye of the beholder and quality.
Not just Blanket Brand Loyalty. I like Kia and will keep with Kia whilst they offer what I'm seeking in a car but I also like other cars for what they are.
We make little jokes about Mustangs because they are a dime a dozen where I live but I still like them, particularly the V8 rubble some of those have.If it wasn't for the safety rating and fact they are not practical for my situation, the Mustang was on my list.
I can not understand people who state they hate Kia's or the Stinger and have never even driven the car, how can you hate something you are not familiar with ? that's just going on other's opinions or a past reputation which is Moronic.
It's similar to judging a person and assuming they are a certain way by how they look instead of giving them a chance because they are more than likely a nice person.
We all know what the Stinger is, those that turn their nose up, so be it, let them enjoy their own cars but they will never know what they are missing ;)
