What's the closest thing to a Stinger

i don't think the buick is in the same league, even with the gs. now, if they brought back a grand national with a turbo six like the cadi ats v, then we might be talking. everything else is either way too expensive, or really way too expensive.

I really wouldn't put it past Kia to bring us an equally high performing and high quality Stinger in the not too distant future. They want to be competitive and they want to show the world they can build whatever they want. Heck, the have their own friggin' S-Class. Expect an RS5 competitor...

I agree its a very nice car but doesnt look much different than the 2017 model. I also cant get over how similar both our interiors look. Besides the Benz style airvents I have to look twice to know its a RS5/S7!

kia's grill gives it away that it isn't an audi. If just looking at the back I'm sure you'll get a lot of double-takes from folks

The RS5 looks great and backs it up with nice performance though is it worth two GT2s? I suspect most of us would rather get a GT and get a tune to produce similar HP #s (I'm sure we're only a few months away from it)

Some folks sure are shooting high with the comparisons (though I do see why). Once you get to a $20-25k delta between vehicles I don't think folks are seriously cross shopping the lower-priced vehicle (in general). At that point folks are probably shopping with their heart or wanting a status symbol rather than comparing features/capabilities in a logical manner

i agree. when you have such a difference in price, you won't get cross shopping. but what you will get, is the person who wants that 75+ look and performance for 20 grand cheaper. or, the person who always wanted to have a gt that is something different. look at all the kia souls that are driving around, those just sell themselves. except for the honda element and the scion xB, nothing looks like it in that price range. you can get the stinger for 40-50 or get an alfa for 60-70, with the increase in insurance and fuel. same with the audi, beemers, maseratis, etc. soon to coming tunes and upgrades with push the stinger into that category of speed and handling. or, we can hang for a year or two and kia will produce their own godzilla killer. the power is there, as we have seen with various different tunes. extra 50 horse without even opening up the engine or changing turbos.

What other car(s) come the closest to the Stinger? Audi sportbacks & Buick Regal GS seem to come close in terms of overall configuration. What else compares?

off hand the 2.0t awd is the closest to the real stinger.....
