What was #1 on your list before you bought the Stinger?

I considered many vehicle brands and models, and not one ticked all the boxes like Stinger, not even what could have been my first choice, a 2017 Holden VF2 Commodore SS-V with a LS3 6.2V8, back in late 2016 when the Holden Engine factory closed down , we employees were offered an Employees Only 2016 Holden VF2 Commodore SS-V Redline "RESERVE" edition, but i did not order one.

Just wanted to let you know, as a former Holden employee (if I understand your post correctly), that my '05 Pontiac GTO LS2 and my '08 Pontiac G8 GT are the two finest cars I've ever owned. The GTO 6-speed I'm keeping. The G8 GT has 200,000 miles and will be sacrificed for the Stinger. Still as tight and solid and quiet as the day I bought it, no leaks, no repairs of any kind, just battery, tires, fluids and filter. You guys really knew how to build a great car. Thanks! I just hope my Stinger is half as good. And I'll shed many tears letting my G8 go - what a great car it has been.

I am very happy to hear your satisfaction with your Aussie built 2005 Pontiac GTO, and your 2008 Pontiac G8 GT, i did consider purchasing a 2005 VZ CV8 Holden Monaro, which is similar to your GTO, just with Holden badges, if you look hard enough, you can still buy Holden Monaros with only delivery kilometres, some owners keep them in storage from new.
I am also a diecast model car collector, and i have every Series of Holden Monaro, and some 1/18 scale models of your 2005 Pontiac GTO.
Im sure it will be an emotional day when it's time to let your G8 go, but huge smiles for your Stinger..:)

I can't give up my 2008 Pontiac G8 GT. Keeping it with 80,000 miles hopefully for another 10 years. Adding the Stinger to the garage!

Used BMW 4-series gran coupe.

Or an Audi sportback

Or a used Subaru WRX wagon, which they don't make any more...

In short, my general must-haves were:

- 4 door + hatch/wagon (need to fit skis for 4, or maybe 2 mountain bikes, and/or camping gear)
- AWD preferably with RWD bias
- sporty handling
- leather seats (so much easier to clean...)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Infiniti Q60 Red Sport was highest on my radar behind the Stinger, but I ended up test driving a Mercedes C43 AMG that the dealer offered me $12k off MSRP for and I got REAL close to pulling the trigger on leasing it. I ended up using it as leverage to get $2200 off MSRP on my Stinger when my Kia dealer had been telling me for weeks they were not going to budge off MSRP at all. I told them it was now or never, either drop the GT2 AWD to $50k or I'm getting the Mercedes. Luckily they did, because otherwise I'm pretty sure I would have just gone for the C43.

I was going to buy a Civic Type R, but figure I need a more family friendly car on road trip as well. Whereas, the Civic type R is only good for track.
Welcome to the forum--lots of great info and helpful members on these boards!

NOTE: Puchasing this fall/early winter...

That said, I was very interested in the forthcoming Buick Regal Sportback. Then I discovered the Stinger in late October. Wow! The Stinger is - IMHO - everything the Regal Sportback wishes it could be, but can’t. The Buick is cutting cost corners with interior materials and performance. The tire debacle is horrific. It’s built on a family sedan chassis (AKA Chevy Malibu), and has not the chops to play with the Stinger GT - not - even - close.

The Regal tries to reach as wide a midsize family sedan buyer market as possible, while the GS wants to be sporty with some crazy seats that don’t fit with the rest of the car whatsoever...

Thus, the Regal Sportback was about as good as I could find that “might” beat my Mazda6 for a bit more $$$ - then the Stinger shows up and puts the Regal to shame.

Suddenly I’ll wait longer to save more and spend a. It more - sheesh!!!

Oh, is the Regal EVER coming to market?!... moving on 6-months late? And what of the future of the line since GM sold that division off... not a good future for the Regal me thinks...

I was deciding between a Toyota Camry XSE v6 (no CarPlay) or Honda Accord 2.0T (hate the rims) as a VW GTI Autobahn MY2018 wasn't available when I got the Stinger. So I'm not sure if the VW was number 1 or if the Camry or Accord were number 1.....
