What octane level for each map?

Hey everyone,

since I don't have access to methanol, I'm stuck with octane boosters. I've gone with BOOSTane, it seems to be the best I can get my hands on (and I'm very happy with the result so far). Would anyone be able to suggest the minimum octane levels for each map? It would be nice to have it all in one place too, I'm sure I'm not the only one asking (and I've searched prior, didn't really find any good answer).

What I know so far:

Map 1: 91 octane minimum
Map 2: 93 octane minimum
Map 3: I'm using this 98.5 octane (min 6oz BOOSTane/tank) for this and it works fine, but I've seen people use only 95 & get away with it.
Map 4: ??? -- would 100 work ? (min 14oz BOOSTane/tank)
Map 5: ???
Map 8: 87 lol

My goal would be to daily map3 (which I can already) and go to map 4 when I feel like it.
If it doesn't work, then my next move would be to play with map 6 and use values between and map 3 and map 4 (i.e. 7 with a taper of 5) .. but I've never seen anything about anyone playing with map 6, so I'll research that further.

Thanks in advance!

Map 0: JB4 disabled
Map 1: 4psi over stock peak tapering to 2.5psi at high RPM. Default performance map suitable for all 91+ octane fuels.
Map 2: 5psi over stock tapering to 4psi at high RPM. Suggested for 93+ octane fuel.
Map 3: 6psi stock tapering to 5psi at high RPM. Suggested for high quality fuel including unleaded race gas, ethanol mixtures up to 30%, or high quality octane booster like Torco or Boostane.
Map 4: Up to 7psi over stock. For use with unleaded race fuel and/or E85 mixtures up to 30%.
Map 5: Up to 7psi over stock but without top end taper. For unleaded race fuel use and bolt on modifications. May not be suitable for E85 mixtures due to high fuel pressure dropping. If using this map on E85 you should be experienced at reading your own logs and evaluating ignition advance and fuel pressure.
Map 6: User adjustable map. Enter value of boost over stock by RPM on user adjustment page.
Map 7: Progressive WMI (water/meth) map. Increases boost as a function of methanol flow & methanol boost additive. Holds boost low until WMI is flowing to avoid tip-in knock, and reduces boost as a function of WMI flow in the event of interruption like running out of fluid, leak, or component failure.
Map 8: Valet map, runs around half as much boost as stock.

That being said I've done BOOSTane Professional (16 oz, half a can) for Map3-5 and it's worked great. I've also used 100 octane unleaded race fuel at 100% and 50/50 with 93 for Map3-5 and that has also worked really well. I've tried E30 with little success even for Map2-3 so I personally won't recommend it but our E85 options are limited here so you may have more success where you are. Now I wouldn't recommend this since Terry doesn't but Map3-4 runs great on Shell 93 (USA) for me, but no other 93 gas. Follow the Map5 fuel guidelines at the very least otherwise you'll misfire in the higher RPMs.

I daily Map4 on Shell 93 and my logs look good.

Thanks for that info! :)

So as it turns out, I just tried map 4 with Petro-Canada (East Coast) 94 (10% ethanol content) + BOOSTane to 99 (maybe even more, I tend to add a bit more than the math suggests). It's been good so far! No misfires, ignition timing is fine, AFR is good, no codes whatsoever... and yeah, I can definitely feel the car faster at map 4 vs map 3. I still want to run it on a dyno.

I'm still daily driving map 2 though, map 3 is not my "when I feel energetic" mode, and map 4 is whenever it's needed... if you know what I mean. ;)

Worth mentioning I my other mods;

- HKS sparks at 0.23"
- HKS BOV kit
- ADDW1 dual inlet catch can (not that it changes anything here)
- Injen Intakes
- Jun B.L secondary downpipe
- Jun B.L EVC Catback exhaust
- Ultimate Performance Intercooler
- VelossaTech bigmouths

This thing is FAST. I'm tempted to swap out the Jun B.L secondaries for the Ultimate Performance primary+secondary kit ... at that point, I think I'll be pretty much maxed out.
