What is this part?

Is there a part name or number for the scratched up metallic/plastic piece? Dealership most likely scratched it and trying to see if this part can be replaced by itself.

I'm 99% sure that the "aluminum" trim does not come separate from the door handle, and probably the entire panel including handle.

That stinks if the "techs" marred your pretty handle trim. But we can accomplish the same thing in an equally distracted/careless moment. Gently buff at it first with microfiber and distilled water and see how much you can knock it back. Then look at finding a touchup paint that matches the "aluminum". It shouldn't be too hard to apply just the right amount; you can always wipe it off as you go if you put on too much.

Thanks for advice. I tried that and it didn’t help. On second inspection there are a bunch of scratches on that entire panel which would suggest someone working on it. Not some event where I could have done it. I was thinking a metallic sharpie but some people are saying don’t bother.

If you see the attached image it looks like that trim could come apart.

I did put in the review of the service I am not happy and I replied to the service case I made with the home office asking them to investigate this. Hopefully, they will be nice and fix this.

Yeah, as I suspected: entire door panel. Sure, the trim can probably be removed, but you aren't going to find a trim piece to put on unless you salvage out a door, then why do that? just replace the panel. Sounds like enormous effort, and expense, for minimal gains. I think a silver Sharpie is a good idea, easily renewed as often as necessary. I'd like to see how it looks. Can't hurt a thing, and will probably be a noticeable improvement. Practically any "silver" (not too shiny) is going to look better than rashed raw white plastic.

Dealership will fix it. They have a guy who does touch ups for their used cars. Although they will not admit fault, they are happy to take care of this for me. Once, they reopen after the pandemic.
