What is behind this little plate/door?

I'm rolling without a front license plate in Ohio currently. 3 months and I haven't had any issues. Do you keep it on all the time? If you look around there are more cars than you'd expect without a front plate. Cars not registered in Ohio don't need a front plate so I think the cops are desensitized to it. My dad also hasn't written a ticket for a car missing a front plate in 30 years.

Yes, it stays on all the time. My son got a $150 ticket for no front plate right in my neighborhood. I'd rather not take the chance.

Really! The ticket was actually FOR no plate? I understand that Utah is one of the many States where the cops won't write you up for no plate unless they cite you for something else first; in other words, "no plate" is not an offense that they will pull you over for. Or was the citation your son got made by some cop cruising the neighborhood looking for anything to write?

It was one of our township police. Saw he didn't have a plate. Turned around and pulled him over. Told him he pulled him over for no front plate, gave him the ticket, and that was it.

Takes all kinds. That is crap. A hundred and fifty bucks because a cop is an a**hole and having one of those days? Or maybe your son was not being "polite" enough to satisfy? I hate stuff like this.

more than likely it was just the cop needing to hit quota..My son is very respectful to everybody, so I'm sure that wasn't it. I'm not taking the chance...that's money towards go fast parts instead of the policeman's ball.
