What gas to use?

I've only burned premium in mine, even though the Kia salesman said that mid grade is good enough. I like to put my foot down when it's passing time, or accelerating onto the freeway, etc. After reading the above, I guess it's good to have premium for those times.

My gallons of gas are 93octane. Just about 4.00 dollars a gallon. Crazy!

Well I take those prices, how about AU$1.78/litre for premium 98 V-Power currently here in Sydney is what I paid ie: 4 litres = 1 US Gal. which makes it AU$7.12/Gal.
Who’s complaining now?

In Oz we have 91, 95, and 98 RON octane. I tried the 98 but it runs rich and leaves black soot on the tail pipe. 95 is better

I only use 98 & only Shell V-Power, have done for years with no issues.

Well, I filled it up with premium. Miles left it said 260-300, I think. I know when I saw the mileage left I was surprised, bc of what I was use to with the Optima. With my previous Optima I would get around 410+.

Whats the break in time for maximum full eco? Im at 1200 miles with a 2.0 premium and always drive in Eco and can never get it to avg more than 23mpg. this is a combination of mostly highway but with heavy traffic and some city. I drive it like a grandma mostly at first to see what my best case scenario mileage would be if I really needed it. But with car being rated at 22-29 and im barely able to get 23 really trying to get the best mileage possible.

Break in time is 600 miles. You shouldn't see a significant difference in mileage. The best I've logged so far was on the trip to TX, which trended downhill, with a tailwind, doing 80 to 90 mph whenever possible: I got 28.3 mpg. Around town, with some freeway, I get between 17 and 21 mpg. I like to be a lead foot; it's one of the main reasons why I got the car.

That's understandable .I figured if I drove it like I drove my Niro for Max fuel economy I'd see in the range of 25mpg. Let's see now during the summer with school out and traffic getting better how it does .

Give it some time, as you drive it more the computer will adjust your MPG depending on your driving style. I am getting 363 miles on the tank, according to the my computer, everytime I fill up with 93

Yeh, take off federal and state tax on fuel and it’s about half that price!
Australian government should have 22 days of fuel reserves but at present we only have 9 days! Hope we done get a fuel embargo from Saudi.

Oh, I should add that I was in Sport the whole time. Freeway driving was around a quarter of the total distance, but most of the highways have 65 mph speed limits and the towns we passed through are small (other than Farmington NM, which was a snarl and not small at all). In those spots the mileage was more like 23 mpg or so. That 28.3 mpg run was actually on I-40, but in Sport mode.

I'm curious about this too, and the results in terms of mileage, etc.

Its not worth the extra 2.00+ a gallon. You could make the argument for using it in a 50/50 mix with MS109 for track days, but...

If you're in the oil belt where its plentiful and cheap, Id use the crap out of it, otherwise, na.
