Hey guys so I have a 2019 Kia stinger GTS, I love the car but based off all the hype I see online and even people I personally know that owns a stinger, I feel mine does meet or even come close to that hype. So far I have denso 2 step spark plugs, burgermotorsport air intakes, snorkel air raids, and a jb4 running map 5 e30mix, first my stinger is reading 0 boost like its not building any at all. I contacted burgermotors and everything is hooked up right they even sent me a new control board and it’s STILL doing it. Plus the car seems excessively slow, once I hit 90 it slowly and slowly creeps, after flooring it for what feels like a mile I’m still only at 102mph. Some history on the car. 1 owner 20k miles 1 accident mild front bumper damage. Does anyone have any thoughts on what the problem could be? Please help!!

Yeah, obviously more is going on here. When you disconnect the JB4 does it still behave this way? Just to narrow down causes.

I trap 116-117mph in the 1/4 mile, so something isn't jiving with your setup.

Yes it does. Idk about the boost part cause there nothing else I have but the jb4 that reads it. But when disconnected yes it still creeps and crawls

I'd consider inspecting all your piping connections from intakes to intake manifold. Make sure everything is seated fully. Maybe open the hood while the engine is running and have someone rev the engine, see if you can hear anything out of place?

Where are you located?

I remember when we bought a well used Dodge Prospector van, the catalytic converter was plugged up (by its own shattered ceramic baffles). Power/acceleration was spectacularly bad. It's possible that the previous owner managed to damage the exhaust system internally somehow: any obstruction of any size would impact the acceleration dramatically.

Fort Wayne Indiana, and I’ve actually had the thought that there’s air escaping from somewhere, cause even the air intakes don’t provide that whoosh sound like like all the other air intakes do for stingers.

I’ll have to do some looking into that as well I appreciate you sharing this experience.

Definitely sounds like no boost at all. With open intakes, you should hear the BOV's when you let off the throttle, heck you should even hear the turbo's if they are spinning up. Does your JB4 setup have EWG wires connected?

So the issues persist with the jb4 unplugged? That's not good. Is there a boost leak? Any codes that it throws?

No it does not. I’m suspecting overboost. It just started jerking on me and not letting me go past 65mph. I’m getting it checked out this weekend so till then I’m just putting 93 back in it and disabling the JB4

Any update on this issue?

Hmm, I'm guessing he's been riding around in a naturally aspirated 3.3L V6.

He sold it haha.

Just my $0.02:
This car is equipped with an 850 CCA deep cycle glass mat RV style battery intended to support the stop-and-go feature. If in fact it has discharged while sitting on the lot an overnight trickle charge should reset the battery.
Depending on your location a replacement battery can run in the $300 range so I'm pretty sure the dealer will be reluctant to go that route so I'd be armed with the facts before the dickering begins

Wut?

Why would the battery make the turbos stop turning?
