I find that i like to keep my fob in my coin/pocket watch pocket on my jeans with the detonator button facing forwards.
This makes it easy for me to reach down with one finger and lock/unlock my car or open the rear hatch.
another benefit in keeping in the small pocket is that it is not getting all dinged/scratched up with my other keys or money clip, etc.
