Welp, we had a good run

Collector’s item. I guess now I wish I had two stingers. One pure stock for collector’s purposes and one fully modded for performance purpose. As it turns out I have only on end have been working on mods. I will finish up my mods before the manufacturers stop building them.

KIA said "that'll do pig"

I won't believe speculation until KIA actually announces they are ending production or another media outlet does their own homework.

Three, count 'em three, threads on this now, all from the same blog. :D This rumor comes up every several months. I think that the instigator is always this same blog.

Not gonna happen.

The writer of the article probably works for KIA dealerships ;). My firm belief is they will make the Stinger until 2024. Just doesn't make logical or financial sense to spend money on refreshing a car to can it the next year. Hopefully I will be able to pick one up before the end of the year

As a proud new owner, if its true i am glad i got mine with a V6. It will only cement how unique of a car this was.

This will go the way of the Supra IMO.. with the GTS being the Holy Grail… yes…I’m manifesting this right now..

The irony is I've seen more Stingers than ever over the last 6 months here in greater Toronto. Last year I think I might have seen 3-4 the whole year. Since the spring I've seen at least 2 dozen.

Clearly internet advertising via youtubers has had some kind of positive impact on the car's sales.

I still think the car has one of the best commercials ever...

It's not that surprising because Kia and Hyundai actually do very well in Canada compared to other markets. Mazda is another Canadian anomaly. Despite our great tastes in cars :p, we're unfortunately just not that big of a market.

Boo, the Steven Tyler video went away: I tired with a link from Slack that works there, but it doesn't work here?! o_O

The supra was special because it could be insanely tuned very inexpensively. The more complex cars have become, the harder its become to mod them extensively. I swapped turbo's on a a supra I had back in the day and added over 200HP.

Maybe its going EV. The world is on the push to make all vehicles EV. I have my 2020 and will enjoy it for years to come. With my 8yr/200K warranty, I'll have many years of worry free driving.

I like the idea that its a 'limited production car' at the end of it all.... not enough people really appreciate the stinger anyway... not that it dosnt turn heads but just to many people stuck to big brands.

And the Telluride took alot of folks away because familly im sure.

Had a guy stop at my driveway last night while i was doing yard work looking at my car. Talked to him for a bit. He apparently was deciding between the stinger and the acura and ended up going with the Acura TLX.

I asked him why, he said well they are very similar cars? I said well the stinger doesn't have a 4 cylinder engine for starters and has roughly 100 HP more unless you get the type S which still only has 355 HP.

And considering the Type S starts at 60k while the stinger starts at 50k, they aren't really comparable.

He looked a bit embarrassed and continued walking his dog. I guess he didn't bother doing any real research.

Just fyi, a fully loaded AWD Type S is $54k compared to a fully loaded AWD Stinger's price of $56k. (TLX starts at $37.5k vs the base Stinger's $36.5k)

The Type S is bigger, heavier, and down 10 HP but when comparing the two many will view that as minor minuses and go with the Acura for the "premium" brand experience. The Type S is probably the Stinger's most closely matched competition.

But the fact that your neighbor bought it and didn't even have enough knowledge on the subject to correct you means he deserves the car he ended up with.

At this point in time I'm regarding it as a rumour until it comes out officially from Kia HQ.
Stingers are getting quite popular over here but Aus is a small market and we don't get the options the US gets.
From what I have read, Kia have been disappointed with the sales in US and that will have a correlation to it's ongoing future.

I was actually referring to Canadian pricing. there is a 10k CAD delta between the two here. We don't have the 4 cylinder stinger here at all.
