3.3TT Weird squeaking...

Dealer will say that's normal.

I say it sounds like a return spring for either the throttle or wastegate isn't properly lubricated. I haven't heard that yet in mine after 36,000 miles.

It sounds like the same noise that people are describing as wastegate screech when turning the car off. I’ve heard a couple of exhaust videos where when they rev the car it makes the same noise. Doesn’t seem to be any solutions because even people who had their turbos replaced, the noise comes back.

Really noticeable on this video around :20 seconds in.

Just noticed a bit of squeaking. Any ideas?

Have you noticed any changes with the squeaking? My 21' GT1 started making the exact same sound as yours right at 1k miles. I'm currently at 1600 miles now. I tried some silicone spray and it kind of helped for a day then it came right back. Just wondering if it has affected performance or anything? I'm hoping it'll eventually go away. Read another post and they ended up replacing the turbo but the noise came right back. Not comfortable with having the engine dropped to replace a turbo and the noise comes back. Trying to see if there's anyone who has any kind of failure due to this noise. If that's the case I'd like to trade it in before I lose a ton of value. Thanks for any feedback. It'll be much appreciated.

I'm weighing in as a reader: who has not heard of any direct turbo failure from this noise (the screech), in other words, turbos fail and the noise is incidental to that. Also, on my can of spray silicone, it says if the noise (whatever that might be from) returns or doesn't go entirely away, to spray on MORE. An abundance of silicone will only help if anything, and hurt nothing.
