Washing the Car

The touchless wand wash place is open 24/7/365; you just have to wait till you get a good solid, above freezing day to spray out the underside.

Lol, except when we do, and then it comes down in buckets full. This was a doodle and quit after it started.

damn, that's a lot for over there. I don't think I have any more solutions for you then.

That would work for the bucket portion for sure, but not the underside portion with the hose that merlin asked about unfortunately.
Sorry my bad. Thinking about paint washing. I'd think that a an adjustable hoze nozzle would work for the underbody shields. Don

Explain this: the manual clearly says that you must clean off the undercarriage, get the salt residue off, etc. How does that work with bucket washes, exactly? I get under there with a touchless wand (we are fortunate to have such a car wash just down the road c. a mile away). And by the way, the soap setting is hot, the rinse setting is cold.
Where I live bucket-washes are a dying breed. Most municipalities have laws on the books that prohibit at-home bucket-washes for sake of the runoff troubling local fish and wildlife populations. So the only way to "legally" wash your car is actually to take it to a retail car wash establishment like Brown Bear. Most of the modern tunnel washes have ways to get the undercarriage clean and include that as part of at least one of the "packages" on offer.

I'm of the mind that if the government is going to mandate you pay a private business to wash your car for you, at the very least the wash should be tax-free.

And yes, I'm a member of the car was club / monthly subscription club.

And I use it quite often (every 50 miles or so) because I don't like my car dirty.

And rash your left rims in the process! I don't do the "bucket wash" per se: I do no-rinse bucket washes, the only so-called runoff is what manages to drip off the car, i.e. small puddles that go nowhere near the gutter. If it weren't for rashing my rims on the guide rail, I'd still take my car through the tunnel, for the ease of getting the undercarriage thoroughly sprayed out.

Stinking socialist, overreaching buttwipe governments. Yeah, this sort of thing makes me really angry. I don't know what your washes charge but I'm sure it's far more than I want to pay. I'm very comfortable financially but I just don't pay for things I can do myself. Don

I used to own and operate a car detailing business (sole proprietorship), so tell me about it! Paying anything more than $0 feels like too much, but I will say I pay the machine a LOT less than I used to charge, and it’s done in about a minute whereas I took at least 10 to do the same work.
