hello all.... I've had my 2018 premium for 2.5 weeks now, already racked up 1600 miles as I've had 3 road trips. I thought I was losing my mind when the smell of wiper fluid seems to come into the cabin whenever I use it. My daughter was with me on my last trip and asked me what that smell is Everytime I used the washer fluid. I really don't know how this could be possible unless there is a leak in the tubing that allows the smell to migrate into the cabin somehow. Has anyone experienced this oddness.

First time I've heard of this one. Definitely find out where the fluid is going!

Definitely. The factory fluid has a distinctive 'tang' to it - and the air intake for the cabin, like most cars, is likely right under the windshield.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, as it's not a defect - just some over-enthusiastic application of scent to the factory fluid. Eventually you'll need a refill, and you can get the unscented brand ...

infutrating ? Is that a cross between infiltrating and infuriating? Being the sensation you get when your senses detect the tang of washer fluid? :D

Factory fluid is normally much stronger smelling than the stuff you buy in stores - sometimes the dealer uses a concentrate and doesn't water it down enough. If it's really bothering you, empty it out and refill with something like RainX and it should fix your problem.

The cabin air intake is right underneath the windshield, so you're spraying the windshield wiper fluid right at the air intake. It's pretty common to smell a bit of wiper fluid, but people are right, the OEM stuff is strong. I replaced mine and it stopped smelling as much, barely noticeable now.

Another alternative is to switch to recirculated air when you run the wiper fluid.

I fill mine with rain-x, doesn't freeze in the winter and makes the rain just flow off the windshield.. it's good stuff.

add some fart spray to it... ultimate troll level 12 there!
