3.3TT Wagner Tuning intercooler

xot1 lives in Korea - the Korean Stinger is a bit different than the US model.
Hardware provided by Wagner...don't know why that would be different...

Also, what's the comment about fitment for US spec? I'm in the states and put mine on this week with no issues...

There are differences between cars for different markets (US crash safety regulations have resulted in some... "interesting looking" differences in bumper design for USDM vehicles when compared to other markets as an example - and this could absolutely impact a FMIC installation). Wagner themselves acknowledged this caused an issue for their product - but it may be that they've addressed that now, and you got their USDM-specific kit.

Just installed mine earlier this week and I would say your review is 100% accurate.

Side note...any issues with the hardware provided? Looks like you have a different hardware than what I got and mine didn't work so I had to use what I had lying around. Talked to the seller (K8Stinger) and he said Wagner is aware of the issue.
Which part is different?
Do you have a picture?

Already? They JUST responded to my comment on Facebook 2 days ago that they're "looking into it".. Seems unlikely.

Talk to ecko04 and angel (search for the existing Wagner discussions) - both of them experienced significant installation issues. Not FITMENT issues, but things like having to replace / drill out rivnuts / cross-threaded rivuts and also some kind of "attach here" that doesn't have an existing hole in the US model bumper or something. Angel's was to the point that his friend returned it. ecko04 was prepared and had the required tools on hand, and still had to make a couple of trips to Home Depot to get it to work in the end. Once installed, it's fine, but it's not "plug and play" like some other kits, from their experience.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Yeah that's what I was very confused by. Rivets provided did absolutely nothing and then the bolts provided weren't long enough to reach the threads on the intercooler...we're only talking about the top mounted bracket so it was easy to just secure it using bolt and nut instead of rivets and then just a longer bolt to connect to the IC. I definitely think it's a great IC and I'm very happy with the fitment and performance, just surprised that something that expensive would come with useless hardware.

Still not sure about the US spec conversation. Besides the hardware issue it fits perfectly...

Apparently they are making ducts in CF compatible with the intercooler design.

Don't know what the price gonna be but it can be expensive because of the CF. If so I hope they offer a cheaper version maybe in plastic.

Anyway it looks perfectly engineered. It will rob some air from the radiator/trans cooler though.

Thanks for posting.

like I said all along, the ducts were coming.

Looking at the price of their other CF ducts for Audi S4, they are probably gonna be priced 300 bucks. That would be on par with VT big mouth (which are in 3d printed plastic BTW).
Our duct design is way simpler but I don't know if thats a factor for the pricing.

If you want a cheap intercooler that is an upgrade over oem get the AP intercooler and it’s completely bolt on and it uses oem ic pipes and you could use the velossa big mouth if you already have them. There on eBay for $560 shipped. There is not data out there proving that any intercooler will outperform the other. It’s like Intake it’s all subjective. If you want a big intercooler with ducts then you can get the JT intercooler which is about the cost of the Wagner. Beware that is from Australia and there is longer lead time with that. I personally understand where you are coming from. I would prefer to get the AP and have $600 bucks on my pocket. I had the Ultimate Performance intercooler and it was great. I mean it all depends what like and want.
SO i have a question? why did you switch the UP intercooler?

Thou shall not summons his name as he is no more. (Sold his car)... a blasphemous and combative traitor.

he is banished to Supraland or GTRville.

never to return or re-tune.

Look at the AP intercooler size vs. Wagner:

I am really laughing when I read people saying the AP is the same performance than the Wagner. I bet it doesn't even have the internal guidelines to evenly spread the air flow, and not even the amount of CFD simulation that went into engineering the piece.
