First albeit small issue after 7000 miles on my 2018 GT2. The virtual display between the gauges is normally set to the compass; lately however, it keeps changing at random intervals to either the windshield wiper setting display or the headlight setting display. Stays in that mode for 5 or so seconds and reverts back. No activity on my part. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue in my 2016 Optima SXL. The headlight indicator would randomly appear as if I were changing it, without even touching the indicator. I think it has to do with how the knob is sitting on the stick. I would fully twist it to either end, and then wait for it to set in whatever position it was in, and it would go away for awhile. Just seems like it was loosely set.

Did more playing around... if I put the wipers on "OFF" instead "AUTO", the display changes now to the headlight setting. If I turn the lights to OFF from AUTO, it all stops and works fine... tells me its in the computer that controls those AUTO functions. making dealer appt. today.

Spilled coffee in the wiper/headlight stalks? Sounds like a connection problem, or dirt, or some mess, inside the contraption that has the stalks and also ties in the buttons from the wheel.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

It is. Changes in the stalk are what tell it to change modes. If yours is happening randomly, it's a wiring/connection issue. If it's happening with headlights and wipers, it's likely in the clockspring connection somewhere.

Played around some more... When I put both wipers and headlight on OFF awy from AUTO or nay ON setting, the display is stable, but the heads up display dims and brightens randomly.... maybe there is a ghost on the loose in the system?

More updates.... the virus has spread! Now all diode lights on switches (ASS, temp control and so on...) are dimming and going bright at random intervals and my parking assist sensors stopped working, all this has gotten worse over the weekend. At the dealer now, will let everyone know what the issue is once I know. Dealer did give me a loaner, but boy, big difference going from a Stinger GT2 to a mini-van!!!!

UPDATE: Dealer tells me it's the ECU, kind of makes sense but what a disappointment after only 1 year and only 7000 miles.... wow, not a great sign for Kia. Will be several days before I get my car back.
