Video in Android Auto

Let me start by saying, I use this primarily while waiting to pick up my kids from school while in the long line of minivans. 2 schools 2 lines and 2 different times.

PLEASE DO NOT WATCH VIDEOS WHILE DRIVING

Now to the point, I purchased cardongle first and it's just too buggy for me so I was looking for an alternative.

I found a video on YouTube for a solution and determined that an app called AAAD and fermata auto were the answer.

plenty of how to videos on YouTube but I thought I would share this little bit of news because I know I'm not the only one that's constantly waiting somewhere with no entertainment, I will know gladly wait outside while my wife goes shopping. Pics of the app and video playing, also carstream did not work for me and not all phones support it, I have a Samsung Flip Z3.

Have you been having audio sync issues? the couple times I've used it the audio is always delayed, no matter what. Yet when I'm watching video on the phone the audio is always perfectly synced.

Yes I have, 2 things to try, disable battery saver or enable developer options and try a different Bluetooth codec to sbc which is the same as the stinger

Is it possible to do this with an unrooted phone? Also, I saw you have to pre-download the videos into your phone storage to watch them within this app, is there one where you can mirror or screen or watch Netflix (I'm trying to catch up on Ozarks on my breaktime lol).

No root needed, I'm not rooted and you absolutely do not need to download videos to watch, just turn on hotspot, AA Mirror will be used to mirror screen to car

Sounds good and is there a video or instructions on getting AAAD? I couldn't seem to find it within the store.

Should probably note that this uses the aspect ratio of your phone to display the videos, so for the rare breed of people like myself that own the Z Fold line, you're better off just watching the video on your phone than this, as it will look wonky no matter which way you try it.

I gave it a shot earlier. I used the AA Mirror, but it worked just fine until I opened Netflix and clicked on Ozarks. I just got a black screen on the car's screen, but it played just fine on my phone. I couldn't figure out how to fix it during my break. Have anyone else encountered this issue?

Netflix probably won't work because it intentionally blocks mirroring from phones and you can't cast to Android auto, here are the FAQs GitHub - shmykelsa/AAAD
