Vibration under breaking, dealership

Hi all,

I'm about to head to the dealership to address the vibration when breaking. To those who got the dealership to "fix" the problem. Did you take any documents to prove this is not normal wear and tear? I'm below 10k miles and had the issue when I bought the car (7k miles). Don't want the B.S. and go around and prefer to go in with all the facts and guns blazing.
 
I'd ask them to ride with you, even drive the car with you along. You can also show them threads on the pulsating/shuddering brakes issue on this forum. Start with this one, the mother of brakes threads: FAQ: Vibration under braking: warped rotors? NO!

Thanks! I just read a lot of the thread you mentioned. Hopefully it is the pads, unfortunately I live in the city and I can't really push the break hard then stop for an hour or 2. Def have to look to aftermarket pads.

Its not an hour or two haha. Just get to 60 on a quiet street slam the breaks and do it 3 times. Then for the rest of the drive (only because your in a city) simply pop neutral as you come to a stop and apply the hand break. When you need to go put it in drive and the break come off. Thia method needs much less time as the airflow cools the rotors. And yea yes yes replace pads if this ia a very common problem.

Yeah i'm going to have to find a quite street next to my place. Only time I can do it is probably a late sat night. Doesn't help that I live a 3 blocks from a police station lol.

Only solution is a brake upgrade. Kia didn't properly design the size of the system for the weight of the car...plus unlikely they are using the best components. I dealt with this problem for years with my 3000GT. That car would warp factory, slotted, cross-drilled...even tried different pads, stainless steel brake lines, caliper rebuilds...I still have the problem to date. SUCKS. My BMW 535i on the other hand has 0 braking issues and I have 230K on it. Nothing worse than a wheel vibration. Forces you to drive like an old lady, which defeats the enjoyment of a sports sedan!
 
Im curious if the charger has the same brake issues as they are heavier and some models have similar brembo setups

It's common knowledge that the stock pads are the cause of the braking vibration Stinger owners experience. Here's some nice bedtime reading on the subject:


Most of us just change out the pads, and with the same stock rotors the vibration vanishes forever.
