Vented hood anyone? (First to market, yay!)

This thread is hilarious!

And here I thought, just like most, that it would be punching a couple holes in the existing hood and replacing the vents with new ones.
Functional is inherently less tacky than fake, right?

Well until now. Yikes...

I'm thinking taking off the stock hood completely and leaving it off would be a better option!! My point, neither would look good...but at least taking off the hood would be free!

wow....just, wow. at least if they copied the vette's hood design, maybe like the old air induction hoods from the chevelle or the camaro, by the base of the windshield.

I heard they did not put real vents as it affects the air flow through to engine compartment. Something to do with pressure difference. I would not be mucking around here, maybe someone can ask the official Kia opinion. I dont have and issue with them being fake.

That vent style is very popular, but it does NOT work on the stinger. The lines do not flow at all.

Someone will buy them.

I think the disconnect here is that style of modification is aimed at a different demographic than the majority of Stinger buyers.

.. but, someone will buy them!

Tough crowd, huh!? I’d like to see how it looks dressed in matching paint. While it isn’t my style, it isn’t out-and-out ugly. It may even serve some great functionality.

Funny thing is...there were some pretty harsh reactions when similar designs were made in previous KDM scenes, but those hoods all ended up selling regularly in the end. There's a market for the dual-vent look just as much as there's a market for something more simplistic. This is just one end of the spectrum and we're guaranteed to see the same style with their own variation from the big name brands on the market too. People who buy cars early in the market lifetime are always going to be more conservative anyway, and I have to say that includes myself as well.
