• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hi All,
I am in the market to purchase a used Kia Stinger GT.
May I please request some guidance :
- Dec 2022 build v/s Apr 2023 build ---> is there any difference ? Should I prefer one over the other ?
- Safe buying a Stinger ? I mean Toyota supports its cars in terms of spares for years after it being discontinued. Will Kia be able to ?
- And the obvious question , fair $ for GT under 20,000kms ?

Thanks Everyone

In Australia there is absolutely no difference between a Dec 2022 build and a March 2023 build. They are identical. Both are "MY23" Stinger GTs, top of the range, 3.3 TT with all the features.

I don't believe there was an April 2023 build as the last Stingers were March 2023 build. You may have April compliance however.

Naturally the later one is worth a bit more. The new drive away price went up $1500 from 1st Jan 2023.

It's as safe buying a Stinger as any other brand still making cars. The company hasn't gone broke so it is no different to Toyota deleting a model. Lots of Parts you can't see like door mechanisms, electronics, are very much identical across the Kia range. The engine is the same for Genesis made by Hyundai the parent company.

Australian models do not have Stop/Go and there are no AWD versions.

Dealer price for a car under 20,000kms, AUD$63990 drive away. It will still have 5 years new car warranty left with Unlimited kms transferrable to all subsequent owners until the 7 year Unlimited km new car warranty expires.

Thanks for replying.
It is comforting to know parts are similar means more likelihood for the parts availability.
The last builds it seems are Apr'23 (that I saw being sold on carsales.com.au).

Looking for a particular colour combo that I can find only in a Dec 2022 build and not on the Apr'23 build. Just timing I guess.
Hence wanted to check before purchase if anyone can give me a solid reason not to purchase Dec '22 over Apr'23 (same kms, same price).

Thanks heaps mate !

99% sure the last manufacture was March 23.

Carsales could be showing anything not necessarily correctly.

Compliance is one or two months after build so they may advertise April 2023 as when it was first registered.

Look under the hood lid at the front. That's where the build sticker is.

This is the full feature list for My23 Stinger GT Australia delivery see the attached Pdf and the link will take you to the Stinger Glossy Advertising Brochure

It's actually a photo by the seller.
There is an April 2023 make car with the photo of the manufacturing date by the seller on the hood lid, hence .
(tried sharing a link, but system stops me as I am a new member). There is a ceramic grey , under 10,000 kms, 2023 in VIC.

BTW - Is there a similar pdf for 2022 too that I can compare to and go through ..?

Thanks so much for all your assistance.

I saw the one you are looking at. Apr 23. Dealers told me the last ones were March 23 and the Tribute edition which was made after did not come to Australia

Here is the 22 brochure. Pretty sure there is no difference.

I was looking at 2023 , not many options in sensible price.
Hence considered late 2022 too.

For combo - I am looking at Chroma blue + Red seats.
Or
Red Stinger black seats.

The used car pricing being asked, is nearly what new was .

But I guess that is our market here now.

You can buy mine for $55k ?

Aurora Black - Red Napa Leather interior

21000km's Dec 30 2022 build, currently absolutely faultless and I think you may know the car ?

Located Gold Coast, rego is being paid in 2 weeks when I get home.

Choice of Vertini wheels/Stock wheels or Stock powdercoated black wheels...

I will be placing a Car Sales add in June for $60k so you get first option, my car is not std but I will happily swap it all back for a genuine buyer...

My car has full intact factory warranty and if you were local I will service it for free .

Daz

Sorry Daz - just paid this morning to purchase a Chroma blue with red seats from a dealer in Melbourne.
:(

Awesome... it's a beautiful colour/ combo.

Chroma looks different everywhere based on photos so I have no clue how would it actually look
Heading from Sydney to melb to pick up the car.
Fingers crossed hopefully it doesn’t look too weird.

My brother is coming back home to Canberra in May after getting married overseas . He will be in the market to purchase a Stinger in May-June.

We should keep in touch .

New price was $69890 driveaway before Dec 31 2022 and $71390 driveaway after Jan 1 2023.

These photos show the exact colour of a Deep Chroma Blue

Well congratulations that you were confident enough to buy a Used Stinger sight unseen 1000 kms away.

It took me longer than a week to buy a new one and I looked at them in person a few times.

Dealer sale
Less thank 10,000 kms
Worse case — if I do not like it , cancel and take deposit back + Flight money wasted .

You can find them. The Hichroma Red I bought is only at 8000kms. The Deep Chroma Blue is 16,000. Both were new a couple of months apart. There is nothing you won't like.

I was looking for that red, low kms, at a relatively sane price , couldn’t find it in NSW.
There’s one ceramic grey/red interior in Dubbo 15000ish kms. Guy didn’t respond for over a week & today he/she did … a bit too late.
Dealer purchase is also preferred due to GST benefits for small businesses.. whereas Priv sale has no GST benefit. And private sellers asking same or more than dealers
I bought this for good price after GST claim calculated . 9500kms.
I hope so there’s no reason to dislike it tomorrow .

Is it a Kia Dealer? Doesn't matter that much as it has the new car warranty still. Fully transferable to new owner for remainder of 7 years. Capped price servicing as well. Check the Kia website

I love my 2023 (Canada).
As long as you know the full service history of the car and are confident that you are buying a good example, then you won't be disappointed.
I'm always curious why someone would trade or sell a car after only 2 years and 10,000 kms.
