US MPG - Real World Numbers

I'm getting 18-19 mpg at ECO or COMFORT, if I drive a little bit harder 14-15 mpg....only 200 mile at the Odometer, should it improve later?

Fuel efficiency does improve as the engine breaks in and the transmission learns your driving habits...

Ouch, I hope so. My big Nissan Titan with a V8 that is 14 years old and weighs a lot more gets better then 14--15.

If you continue to drive harder then no. This car will suck fuel like crazy.
Yes it should get better though with time.

Are people citing the mileage that the car is telling them, or are you determining the actual mpg when you fill up a tank? My Optima's readout can be as much as 2.5mpg off from reality since it's just an estimation. I'm hoping Kia got a little more accurate or these are calculated results from fill-up capacity.

Edit: Well clearly Mark right above me knows the deal but just checking on the other results if you guys could chime in.

So I refueled and manually calculated my MPG. My actual MPG was only .8 mpg less than the readout on the Stinger. If I remember right, my Optima was about 3 MPG less. Believe it or not, I am getting virtually the same actual MPG with the Stinger as I did with my 2013 Optima SX (34 mpg highway they said... but really more like 29).

Also don't be driving it TOO hard during the break-in period. You mentioned only 200 miles on it so far.

I recently drove from Vancouver BC to Portland Ore return and got 25mpg , I was primarily running in ECO mode , Pretty good , 2 people with luggage .

I seem to get about 1-1.5 mpg more if I am in eco over comfort. Not a huge difference but I am consistently averaging 22.5 MPG in eco in basically 85% bumper to bumper city/highway driving. I got about 24.5-25.5 MPG with my Optima on the same route. Using manual calculation I get about 21.8 in the Stinger GT2 and 21.5-22.5 in my old Optima SX.

Not too shabby, I am assuming mileage will further improve as the system "loosens up" a bit more.

I guess , but I dont do much highway driving so was just trying to see how it worked out . Tomorrow I have a another shorter trip planned and will see how it does .

As you will recall, I am planning a bigger road trip. About 5,600 km, starting Feb.1. So far only 169km driven. Will likely do a 230 km run on Saturday or Monday next. Maybe another one after that. And then the "big" one.
Picked already the KIA dealer in SC who gets the honor of my first oil change. My mechanic will finalize either tomorrow or Thursday installation of oil catch cans. Have it all prepared, he just needs to do the connections. Easy peasy. I am curious whether we connect anything, and if, how much.

My commute to work is 15 min. and 10 miles. I drive the car like I stole it and I'm always in sport mode. 1100 miles in my overall trip meter says I get 19mpg as a result. Not disappointed at all.

I drive about 100 miles per day (thus why I chose the 2.0T Premium) and I am getting roughly 31-32 MPG (mostly highway speeds - 60 MPH+) in Normal Drive Mode. Very comparable to what my 2014 Optima Turbo was getting. I am quite happy with my beloved Stinger so far.
