Update 12.5 Adds Bluetooth Messaging and...

Purchased mine at the end of April. Just called premium number and they are having 12.5 SD card shipped to me. Quick and easy, excellent customer service.

Called KIA Stinger support desk at 855-454-2847. Bought mine June 30th but was two software versions behind. KIA is sending me the newest update 12.5 for free. Very friendly agent (Michael) helped me out without hesitation.

Just called the number posted above and sounds like they are sending me the sd card as well. Pretty easy process but I am slightly concerned I will not end up with the right card. I mentioned update 12.5 multiple times and she didn't seem to know what I was talking about...Said something about map version 11.47xxx. So I guess in 5-7 business days I get to see what I end up with.

They wouldn't be shipping out anything but the latest map version - that is the correct one.

Here is what my system info page looks like. Not sure how to tell if it’s version 12.5

I can receive messages and have the system read me text messages. I don’t believe I can respond. This is only connected through Bluetooth on iOS.
I got my head unit replaced, no text over Bluetooth. Did I get old software?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Your North American map data is an older version, but that is normal - updating the map data (which lives on your SD card) isn't part of updating/replacing the HU and it's firmware.

You'll have to compare the firmware version with someone in the U.S. who has the latest - the FW version on my new HU is for the Canadian market.

I wonder if anyone up in Canada has had any luck getting there HU replaced.. I have the random fade to rear and also changes in tones depended on slight speed increase/decrease, all of those within the 20 to 90 KM/H range.

I have taken my car in 3 times regarding the issue and the service tech cant seam to notice it or the car desides to play nice..

Painful

Yes, there have been at least a couple of us successful with having it addressed. Like you, I mentioned it on every trip to the dealer, but despite hours of trying I was never able to find a way to replicate the issue on demand. They said they could not address it unless they could see it happen (the American service bulletin does not apply in Canada).

My problem was strictly with the full fading of all sound to the rear speakers, which happened intermittently but usually after a cell call I took through the head unit. Eventually, on one visit they said their tech was able to replicate the issue and ordered a new HU. On the day I booked for service I dropped the car off first thing in the morning, and they had it done before noon.

It's worked perfectly ever since.

KIA Canada is still pretending this isn't a real issue.
