Some good, close up and high resolution video of the Stinger at the Chicago Auto Show.

We've got a blue on white Stinger here. Some new (to me, at least) information here...
  • The three-dimensionality of the tail lights.
  • The show car is wearing some anonymous Michelin tires instead of the Continentals we saw it wearing in the original product shots. The tires don't indicate the exact model, but the tread pattern is a sportier all season or possibly summer tire. I'm guessing this is what will be packaged on the GT when it goes on sale.
  • I think we get a better idea of the materials used around the interior.

We've got similarly close/detailed video of a red on black Stinger here. Footage isn't quite as close and detailed as the blue, but probably still nice if red is your color of choice.

The Kansas City Auto Show is coming up in a couple of weeks, hopefully I'll be able to get an even up closer and personal'er look at it then.

Thank you for posting these up. Blue looks great. I like the way the person holding the video camera went around the car inside and out. You get to see lots of fine details. I really can't believe I missed the Detroit and Chicago auto shows this year. Shame on me! I'd have my own Stinger videos...

I'm going to the KC Auto Show. Nationally it's not that big of a deal, but we do tend to get upcoming vehicles and hopefully the Stinger will be there. Let me know if you have any special requests while I'm there.

Upon closer inspection of the videos, I noticed the tires were branded as the Pilot Sport 4. Michelin only has a Pilot Sport 4S on their website, so I'm not sure what (if any) difference there is between the "regular" Pilot Sport 4 and the 4S version. This is a summer tire, so I'm guessing it is going to be an option along side the Continentals rather than a replacement for them. There's a pretty detailed review of the tire here.

It looks like they sell both the PS4 and the PS4S in the UK.

In the articles about the PS4 they indicate it is a more advanced version of the PSS. At the NAIAS launch of the PS4 S they indicated the same thing for the PS4S. I cannot find any comparisons between the two. Just comparisons of each to the PSS.

Since the PS4 is not sold in the US I don't think we will see it here. I really hope we do see the PS4S on the Stinger GT (it does currently come in the correct sizes).

I'm left with the impression that this will be the case.

That would be great news. I almost always default to the Michelin PSS when replacing summer tires on a street car. A "better" version of that tire factory installed would be an impressive move by Kia.

Can anybody tell if there is a compass in the rear view mirror?

I'll go to the Fort Lauderdale auto show later on this month. I'll get some good pictures and videos. I just hope the Stinger GT is there...

I imagine it will be there. I kinda hope to see a non-GT, since we already know quite a bit about the GT.

I've been watching video reviews by MotorGraph, a Korean motoring journal, on youtube. Neither the 2.0L or the 3.3 GT show a compass in the mirror. May be the compass in the mirror will be a US -specific feature?

Yea a compass would be crucial in my view. I can't remember the amount of times that I've been lost in my automobile and needed a compass to get back on the right course!

Cleaning the bugs out of the honeycomb front end is going to be a real treat.
