I know thie sounds bad and maybe I’m in denial but I don’t think it’s that bad. It sounds like a VERY high pitched induction noise only under WOT in any maps except map 0 and 8 (obviously).

To me, and I have zero experience with turbos, it sounds like an induction noise more than a bad bearing or faulty turbo.

I started hearing it once I installed cold air intakes (installed JB4 at the same time) and the video I took is me in map 5 under wide open throttle. It usually isn’t so loud or audible at all but last night it was (it doesn’t carry over to the video well you really have to listen close at the top of the rpm range)

I don’t think it’s bad, I have 40k miles so I feel like a faulty turbo would have met it’s end already. It’s a 2021 3.3t GT1 in case that helps.

Just wondering if anyone had experience or any advice on what I should / could do. Here’s the video link:

I don't hear any turbo whine. Take longer clip.

I hear nothing but engine. my high frequency hearing is pretty bad anyway, so if I ever get turbo 'whine' I probably won't hear it.

Sounds perfectly normal.

Actually, sound quiet considering you have open air intakes.

Why did you install the intakes of you prefer the silence of the stock enclosed intakes?

I prefer the noise! I just didn’t know if what I was hearing was normal noise or if it was my turbo about to go out or I pushed it too hard

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Pretty late to the thread, I have a 2021 gt1 also, I have k&n open air intakes, I have the same exact sound that you do. Ive thought it was a problem, myself and the dealer put the stock air box back on, sound went away when stock. Dealer doesn’t see anything wrong. Obviously put my aftermarket intakes back on. Ive checked my turbo bearings, everything is solid. I can hear that sound even without jb4 but it’s only under higher boost. (But I live where its 30F degrees 2/3rds the year) update me if you still have the sound. Thanks.

I recently installed the burger open intakes without the jb4 and have the same whooshing sound. Pretty sure that's just the intakes sucking in air.

Easiest way to hear the induction "whoosh" is to punch the throttle and then get off quickly before you really build boost, revs, and wind noise that'll drown it out. With open air boxes at low speed it should be very apparent.

The "ch" at the top of the rev range as you shift/close throttle is the recirc valves rerouting extra boost back into the intake piping to keep them from bouncing off the closed throttle and turbine. It'll be a more subdued version of a blowoff valve venting, and a less destructive alternative to the "stu-stu-stu" of turbo flutter.

What the og poster is concerned about is the top end whine, i isolated the video where you can hear it, also uploading one of my videos you can hear it at the 5-7s mark. I know the bov and induction sound, its a high pitched wine.
Entire video

5-7s mark in this video
