Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has heard of or experienced any issues with the turbo. I just got my Stinger GT1 and honestly it doesn't have quite the 'oomph' I was expecting and I don't think my 0-60 is even hitting 5 seconds.

I noticed that in the gauge section of the dash, the bar indicating the turbo is barely moving - probably not even 1 psi. Anyone have any advice? I'd like to take it to the dealer but that's a solid 2 hour drive unfortunately so I'd have to dedicate some time to that.

I would contact Kia and the dealer. I get 1 lb of boost just granny driving. When the turbos kick in it will push you back into the seat and you will feel it.

Are you sure it’s a gt1 and they didn’t give you the 4 cylinder?

Definitely, if you are not feeling the torque even without flooring it, the turbos are asleep.

And welcome, btw!

If you haven’t already done so, try it in Sport mode & see if you get the same response.

And try shifting with the paddles, in manual gate (so the trans won't revert back to "D" on you). Hold the RPMs with your foot down between shifts, approach red line: if you don't feel raw acceleration now, your turbos are more than asleep; they are comatose.

Thanks for the advice everyone - I've definitely tried it in sport mode and the paddles were a good suggestion. I uploaded a video of me doing what is theoretically launch mode. I'm definitely supposed to be in a GT :) Got the badge and the price and the Brembos, etc.

I have an appointment with the dealer next Monday - hopefully they can help me out.

I can only assume you have a boost leak somewhere, maybe a hose popped off. That is insanely slow...

zzzzzzzzz ...:poop:

At least it sounds better than other cars doing 0-60 in 7 seconds

Maybe they forgot to install the turbos at the factory. 0-60 seems about right for a NA DOHC V6 lol.

"Forgot to install turbos", lol. The hose loose theory wouldn't completely sideline the turbos, would it? Probably some interface isn't interfacing. The turbos are just sitting there, dead weight. "They" will find it in short order, I am confident. I bet it's an easy fix (no sense borrowing trouble).

Oddly enough though, you'd think a loose vacuum hose, charge pipe clamp, etc, would produce a fault code.

Yeah, and one would think pulling the AWD fuse on AWD Stingers would product a fault code lol

Did you have a chance to test drive this exact vehicle prior to purchase? Was it the same way, or did it change after taking it home?

Damn, there is something def wrong there. Did you buy the car used or brand new?

None of my previous cars threw codes with minor boost leaks. Hell I cracked an end tank on my Cobalt ss and it didn't throw a code.
