I just got a stinger GT AWD & ready for a tune but am hesitate on which product I should go with. I read all the forums on the Racechip, JB4, VR & Lap3.
My main concerns are: ease of installation & removal (when I visit the dealer) & reliability that this is my daily driver.
I purchased K&N drop-in's & rear sway bar which I plan on installing in the next week or so. The next and most important is the tune. I plan on purchasing whatever spark plugs (the HKS or Denso) I may need but I need advise on what the most reliable and a simple plug and play system.
I think I narrowed it down to JB4 or racechip (Im hearing some complaints about the Lap3).
In addition, can someone explain why or what is the need for the pedal tuner that Racechip and BMS provides? What benefit will this create? For $200 extra, it seems pointless. Can someone educate me on this as well?

Do nothing...just sit in your car and smile and make the "vroom vroom" sounds. :geek: I joke, you're on the right track with your studies. You'll get some solid feedback here on tuning and such.

I can only comment on the BMS pedal tuner and the Race chip XLR as far as the concept. The idea, they impact the pedal sensitivity. No HP gain, no true butt dyno gain. Just more sensitivity or less sensitivity.

Hi Hand you got it down....get the Jb4 the Bluetooth connect kit the fuel wire and you are good to go...I put this on mine with 200 miles on the clock....ease of installing is a no brainer...removal just as easy...the smile on your face can not be removed....peddle tuner not needed.......denso sparkplugs yes...you can get em from Burger too if ya want.......don't forget to to save money for ppfing your front fascia and hood....it is money well spent.... :)

Excellent advise thus far!
Scott - regarding the pedal sensitivity, - sometimes there is a lag when you accelerate over 1/4 way, with traction control on, there is a hesitation before it get going (and when it gets going, it shows no mercy); I would assume it's because the computer senses slippage at the wheels (I live in NJ, so salt, cold, etc. ), would "that" lag be minimized with the peddle thingy? I never met anybody with a pedal tuner; I envision it being like dating a model - high maintenance woman and ever minute detail correlate to dramtic response, unlike dating the girl next door where you have some play & if you need to get it going alittle harder, you dont have to be as precise (so if you are at 1/8th throttle & the RPM's arent living to your expectation, you give it another 1/4 push to get where you want it). Is it safe to assume, your at 1/8th throttle, its going to react precisely instead of some tolerance?
washguy - whats ppfing?

Not to get off the tuning subject - anyone use subframe connectors or front sway bars? If so, does it really make a difference? For suspension related upgrades; the car is excellent as is but without question, it definitely needs the rear sway bar upgrade (well for someone that "drives", you all know what im talking about). Regarding subframe connectors - I found sharkracing.com/2018-stinger-billet-aluminum-chassis-brace/ and sharkracing.com/2018-stinger-front-and-rear-subframe-brace-set/ . The Front-and-rear feels like it's alot of money...

Definite yes on the rear sway bar, front is okay IMO. Subframe collars/spacers will definitely improve the overall feel and handling of the vehicle. Without compromising comfort.

And 2nd what wash said.

Hands Ppg is clear bra a thin clear sheeting that protects your paint from rock chips and such..its very labor intensive for them to put on cause before they lay down the ppg they correct all your paint imperfections...check it out be sure its not the decal but is wrapped around the edges Wash

Who will do that install, dealer? my window tint guy (he does car wraps)?

@Handsomej81 ... the throttle response is pretty much from the moment you push the pedal and through. Once again, it's not a true engine performance upgrade. I agree with wash that you probably don't need it if you are going to do the JB and such. And...I second the sway bar idea as well as the PPF. I have front a rear sway bars and notice better handling. With the PPF, I only got the front bumper and partial hood as I was also doing the ceramic coating at the same time and I didn't have the cash (I should have sold something and done the whole hood PPF).

Hands never the dealer with ppf
Your tint guy could possibly do it,but if it were me I would seek out someone that only does this...a good clear guy will have a big plotter cutting board and huge rolls of the stuff in his shop he will use software to plot then cut the different body sheets with enough to wrap around the edges and will correct the paint before installing...so yep someone who wraps cars can do this...shop around...front fascia, complete hood, a pillars, rear area by the trunk, door handles, some right behind all wheels....I bartered for mine, but all in all about 2k ...best thing ive ever done...cept the jb4 Wash

Can't imagine why anyone would get any tuning solution other than the JB4. If you don't want the extra power/safety from JB4's OBDII and fuel wires then just don't install those. :)

I purchased 9H mr fix ceramic coating which I plan on doing myself. Would anyone advise against applying it myself?

Hands I would advise against that stuff...cheap Chinese look at this place BlackFireWax.com Car Care Products is good and they have a guide also.. I would use the black fire nano product doesn't have flash problems also Detailed Image - Premium Auto Detailing and Car Care Products they have good nano products......clay bar then prep paint with the particular nano prep and use the nano applicator that comes with...get extra wipes :) Blackfire has been my "go to" product line lately :) Wash

Excellent! Back to the JB4 - has anyone found any issues/concerns? Inconsistent idle? Any electronic "confusion", check engine lights? Transmission not living up to par or any concern that the trans can't handle the additional power over the long haul?

The jb4 is a must buy. Driving around normal the car drives just as good as stock. Just do the plugs or get yours gapped down minimum. I have stock plugs jb4 fuel wires Bluetooth bms intake and exhaust and no issues so far. I run on map 2-3 mostly with 4000km of hard driving with no issues so far.

Buddy, nobody knows anything long term. There simply hasn’t been enough time to by to know. Especially about the transmission.

To your original question, get the jb4 with all the trimmings.

I just did the JB4 upgrade. JB4 (fuel wires came with it), Denso plugs and the BMS intake. Got a lot of advice in this forum and it paid off.

Hands with the JB4 I keep looking down at the tach when stopped to make sure the engine is still running....lol....my Jb4 app on the cell has about a 200 rpm variation when at idle...crazy smooth...I will say the power is addicting once you change your map to higher horsepower its very hard to go back down.....but lemme remind you...just cause you have say your map2 running doesn't mean you are taxing the engine in any way as long as you drive sane,,,the Hp is there if you want it...but not there during normal peddle inputs...got it? No cel light ever for me no nuthin it behaves well order that bad boy :) Wash

Looking at your picture, I don't see an oil catch can. You might want to think about getting one of those.
