If I make a right turn under hard acceleration the transmission remains in low gear at high rpms even after letting off the gas, and won't go into a higher gear even if I manually upshift or "pop" the pedal. Eventually, after what seems an eternity, it will upshift and go into normal rpm. It only does this on right turns. Left turns are completely normal. What is going on here?!

something wrong, obviously. duplicate for the dealer. although I haven't heard of this exact behavior before. you could get a new trans. hopefully it won't take too long to resolve your concerns. check trans fluid level and condition as a start. see if different drive modes behave differently. and if you are hitting it in a hard/tight turn, try not doing that so much in the meantime.

I’m having this issue too on a brand new transmission..

does it shift to the next gear if you keep accelerating to the redline? There is logic like our bmw's in hard cornering to prevent upshifts to keep weight shifts at a minimum but it should shift if you get up to the redline. I don't know about only doing it on right vs left turns, but are you sure the same amount of g's is held both ways? I've never tried to force upshift in the middle of a hard corner with the paddles/shifter before so i don't know if it prevents that ... will try it sometime..

I can confirm it’s happened on a left turn and when I jerked the wheel to avoid someone hitting me. I never tried going to redline- I just used a paddle shifter to upshift instead (comfort mode). Dealership found nothing so maybe it is intended to work this way!
