• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hi guys, new Stinger GT owner here in Adelaide, bought a white one a week ago. Just nice to be driving a (relatively) new car but the Stinger is very cool, from the touch to close tail gate to the wireless charging for the phone lol.

I'm in the mood for making the car "mine" and as such was wondering if anyone had experience with adding a new set of wheels to their car. Specifically dealing with the tyre pressure monitoring system installed in the standard wheels?

Anyone know if the standard ones will simply unbolt and can be mounted to the new wheels? Or will I be getting four new sensors and going the whole hog?

Any insights gratefully received.

The tyre place should be able to transfer the TPMS to your new wheels.
I have aftermarket wheels & I chose to buy another OE set from Korea & left the originals on factory wheels.
Everything worked fine nothing to set up the system recognised the new sensor without any issues.

Sweet, did you go the eBay route or some other source for the OEM sensors?

Congrats on your purchase! I hope to be an owner in the next couple of months or so.
Curious as to what wheels / size you are going for, as I am contemplating changing the wheels as well on mine.
Have read a bit about the TPMS and it appears that a new set will just work after a few Kays. Can find them on eBay for around $80 a set from memory.
Enjoy your new ride.

Thanks. Going for 20" Niche Gamma, because of the Brembo calipers the offset has to be quite accurate, so there was limited off the shelf availability.

How expensive was "too expensive"? I don't mind paying more if they turn up quickly, I don't want to wait a month for a delivery from OS.
I paid approx. AU$140.00 for the 4 with free delivery mid May received them early June.
My dealers Spare Parts Dept. quoted me AU$180.00 each

Most Korean eBay sellers will have then to you in about a week.
I get stuff from South Korea quicker than Sydney.

I'm sitting here perusing the forum waiting for DHL to deliver the sensors; you were 100% correct, arriving from Korea in 4 days. Wheels should be here tomorrow then it's off to the tyre shop for installation!

(I got that wrong: memory again. )

When I bought my TSW rims, they did not come with TPMS, like the wheel guys said they would: their mistake: cost me another hundred bucks (or was it $75? can't remember now). So I can't answer that question. Move along. :P

Not to worry, I now have 4 brand new replacements direct form Korea in my hot little hand, DHL just dropped off the box.

Yes they are pretty good getting stuff to Australia.

Just to round out this thread: I purchased some TPMS modules from a South Korean eBayer, paid an extra $25 for rapid shipping and received them 3 days later. As others have said, that's quicker than I could get them from interstate. Cost: AUD$177 all up including the shipping. Keep in mind Kia Australia throwing around numbers like $180 per module...

Took the modules and the wheels (tyres already mounted from the seller) to a local tyre place, tyres off, modules fitted, wheels mounted to the car: $25 per wheel.

Took the OEM wheels out of the car when I got home and went for a drive, no alarms which I guess means the new modules are doing their job. Guys at the store didn't do anything to activate them, they just work.

So, for anyone looking at this, total was AUD$277 and 3 days wait. Worth it for me, your experience may vary...
