I’m curious how much the GT2 AWD can tow? I’m thinking about a small travel trailer.

there a few Euro members that have done hitches for small trailers , try more searching

I tow this regularly.

Used to tow it with Mazda 3. The stinger does everything even better.

I often tow 2 bikes on this trailer, but can't find pictures right now

Check with your insurance. Depending on where you live, it may not be rated for it, and your insurance might not cover you. In the US, at least for my model year, there are no official tow capacity numbers.

Obviously, the vehicle has the ability to tow a load, they sell "official" tow kits in places like AUS where even the 2.0 has an official tow rating of 1500kg. Pre-launch pics even show it towing a pretty hefty trailer.

My manual says you should not tow.

I just wish the Stinger was rated for towing in Canada that would make it the perfect car. We are currently towing a small trailer tent with my girlfried Sonata 2.4L, the Stinger would do a much better job.

If only the reality were as easy as that looks. Just breeze along without physics. Hah, Hah.

in fact have you checked the link, it is an actual testing that was done in UK. I believe in some countries the Stinger is rated a 1500kg braked and 750kg unbraked!

I went back and read it. Sounds like you need to watch that rear load when slowing down. Otherwise, surprising performance. :)

That's awesome, have you checked the legal/insurance implications of this? I'll ask next time I'm renewing mine (in BC), but doubt they'd cover you if anything went wrong considering you're towing "out of spec".

I used to tow my motorcycles on a Harborfreight 4x8 trailer with my old '09 Genesis sedan. Even the heaviest touring bike weighs only about 800-900 lbs. My heaviest is a K1600GT that is about 700 lbs without luggage. Most sport bikes are 400-500 lbs. Dirt bikes less than 300 lbs. Trailer empty weight is probably around 400 lbs, so the heaviest I've ever towed was less than 1200 lbs.

Stinger's tow rating is either 1500 or 2000 lbs, depending on the region. This USA dealer website says 2000: 2023 Kia Stinger FAQ I wouldn't want to push all the way to that limit, but 1200 lbs should be a piece of cake.

I have not, and you are correct about the "towing out of spec" But I live dangerously, and tow carefully.

The towing spec in North America, for the Kia Stinger is 0.00lbs. (or - unrated).
Europe ~1,500 lbs without trailer brakes, ~3,300 lbs with trailer brakes.

I remembered those pre-production images of some random camouflaged Kia model.... Towing a small tandem axle trailer.

**EDIT
Adding my Canadian manual recommendation for towing = Not Recommended.
